Wonderful afternoon spent touring the mine, museum, company house and store, followed by lunch at the restaurant in site.
... it was truly eye opening... after the tour there are many large equipment displays and a replica village, good for 2-3 hours, the tours are every 1-1/2 hours, but it takes that long to view all the displays.

The boardwalk in Baddeck is lovely, with view of the lake and a chance to sit on a bench with Mr. and Mrs. Bell and have your photo taken with them.

The view of the turbulent waters and the quaint history of the remote light house made this one of my favorite lighthouses among the many (many, many) we saw in NB and NS.
The area around the lighthouse is open, which offers great views of the ocean.
