Very educational and lots of fun for the kids. The folks leading the tour and those working in the castle in different areas were very friendly and knowledgeable.
The price of the ticket also allows you access to the Military museum on site, which is very interesting and has activities and touchables for families with children (I love the dress up area, personally)

Children are safe because the entire walkway is protected by a sturdy, black fence, wide enough to get a camera lens through for unobstructed photos!
Definitely great place to go as a date, family adventure, or even for a stroll with the dog.

It can be a bit of a walk from the parking to the beach area, so I usually take a wagon with our son shelter and beach toys, and the kids.
We bussed a group of New Canadian Ladies and their children for a picnic, they had a great time swimming and we played some simple games with prizes.
