What travellers are saying
- beetcannerSouthern Nevada674 contributionsHiked 3 or 4 miles up the trail from the parking area. Nice altitude to keep the heat at bay. Made for a lovely couple of hours in gorgeous scenery and trees. I highly recommend taking the well maintained trail for humans, not the horse trail. Bring your camera and enjoy the fresh air and quiet of the surrounding hills.Written 28 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Constantinos R2 contributionsLovely place and weather. Wonderful views and excellent coffee. My kids loved the horses and donkeys. You can go up to the valley in Willys jeeps that offer taxis service.Written 19 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AlisonJWLondon, UK328 contributionsWe did a two-hour tour last week in a group of five and thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately I can't remember the guides name but he was very knowledgeable, interesting and amusing. A great experience.Written 18 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Kellie R2 contributionsOmar did an incredible job of touring us around this special, boutique coffee farm. We had a wonderful experience without any crowds and are so glad we chose this Finca to tour while in coffee country!Written 15 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul2 contributionsChristian was a great guide, perfect command of English and gave great information about the coffee production process, having worked in it himself previously. Tour concluded with a well earned espresso, after only talking about coffee. Duration of the tour was also perfect, around 1hr.Written 28 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bozeman-DublinTrim, Ireland8,868 contributionsIt is well worth the climb up to this lookout point above the town of Salento.
It is reached by a long set of steps, not overly taxing if you take your time but at this high altitude, it can leave you a bit breathless. But there are benches along the way to rest on and landings at regular intervals to give to a break from the steps.
At the top, the Lookout point is very grim and dilapidated, not very well kept. There are no facilites or cafes except a hawker selling water and a few trinket sellers.
But the view down to the town is great so it's worth a visit.Written 10 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Zoey Talon GreenbergFriday Harbor, WA7 contributionsThis is a beautiful, genuine example of what a piece of land can become with owners who pour their soul into the place. I stayed here with a friend of mine, and we hope to return. The family on site treated us with kindness and we really enjoyed getting to know them and looking at the land through their eyes. We saw a rare bird while there, and spent a lot of time in the Enchanted Forest which is how it sounds — enchanting beyond words. This is a rustic place, with a rustic feel and accommodations.Written 8 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travelaround59London, UK1,867 contributionsSalento seems to be the perfect “postcard” little town of Colombia, with the colourful little houses and the high mountains around. Of course is very touristy but is a sweet place with the myriads of shops selling typical things.
It definitely worth a stop or for the shopping or for just a photo opportunity.Written 24 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I can't believe the terrain and flora differ so much from the bottom of the valley to the top. I did the long hike. Went counterclockwise around the valley. Started in the bottom through the farm, then the jungle seeing multiple waterfalls in the damp leaves. Approx halfway through, you come to a 3 way fork in the trail. Up to the right is an extra mile loop (we didn't do because we were worried about rain) called Hummingbird trail, that will bring you back to the same spot, and up to the left is the top of the valley and the trees. The next mile of the trail is straight up until you get to a flower-y farm. I think going the other way (clockwise) would have been easier). Once we got to the top where the tall palms were, we ate a small lunch we had packed. Then made our way down through the more touristy/accessible part of the park. By that time it was fairly crowded because of the time of day.
If I hiked this again, I would hike clockwise. My suggestion is to get there RIGHT when the park opens. We got there at 9:15, and that was even a little late in my opinion. Bring sunscreen, hat, water, snacks, and rain jacket. The weather fluctuates a lot. Hike takes about 4-5 hours.
Would definitely recommend!Written 11 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
