Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Leonidas picked us up in Chania for this great tour. He is fluent in English and a very engaging conversationalist, making the 2 hour drive to Heraklion feel really short. He is very knowledgable about modern Greece and we had some great discussions about how young people in Greece perceive the world compared to where we are from- economy, living costs, healthcare, education etc. Leonidas gave us more than enough time to explore the museum and the palace of Knossus and took us to a great place for lunch. We couldn’t visit the cave (closed in winter) and we were given a discount to account for it. The car was very clean and really comfortable and the drive from Chania to Heraklion is very scenic.

Kostas was such fun tour guide! Make sure to bring your sense of humor. He is also so caring & thoughtful. He goes out of his way to make sure that you get the most experience in your tour. He has connections with the locals & make things happen. We’re so bummed to find that the Olive factory was closing for the day, Kostas used his charm & persuaded them to give us the tour & he performed his ‘how to drink Olive the right way’ performance for us😆 He’s also very organized, he came prepared with packaged of snacks that he treated us with at each stops. Each of those snacks represented authentic Greek foods & some of them were prepared by his mom & crops from their own farm…how thoughtful!
We had three young adults & two adults but I think any age group would have a great time with Kostas.

We booked a private boat trip from chania with Seaze the Day. It is my husbands 60th birthday and our 3 adult daughters joined us here in crete to celebrate. It was a magical day, we visited Balos - Gramvousa - Falasarna -Elafonisi -Kedrodasos. Food was amazing, too much and the boat just right.

Had a great relaxed day out with George, who was a fantastic guide and really made the day for us. The winery was excellent as was lunch. We enjoyed the off road drive too.

We were on a cruise and collected promptly from the port, very easy and much better than the offering from the cruise line.

We are so grateful that we did this private tour. Our guide, Chrysa (Goldy) was amazing—animated, informative, upbeat and cheerful. We had such a great time and it really increased our understanding of the historic section of Hania.

This was one of the best tours that we had on our recent Mediterranean cruise. After being picked up from the cruise terminal we were taken to a cafe overlooking the ocean and had a beautiful view while having a cup of coffee and a snack. There were only nine of us in the group and it gave us a chance to get to know each other. After the coffee we went to a wine tasting and learned more about wine than I thought possible. After the wine tasting we had a stroll through town and then had an amazing Greek lunch. The food was fantastic. We finished up with some free time to stroll though town before heading back to the ship. Nasos was a fantastic guide and realized that we did not have to have him talking to us constantly. He gave us the information and then let us have some time to walk through Chania. It was nice to be relaxed after an excursion rather than being exhausted and tired of being talked to constantly.

What an awesome adventure. We were given a very thorough explanation of how to drive the boat, after which we were set out to explore Mirathi Bay. What a beautiful area! And I really felt like a captain out on the open water! The bays are magnificent. Aqua blue water, steep cliffs and we had it all to ourselves (not too many boat rentals in November). We certainly had a day we won’t soon forget!

The whole experience was wonderful. We were picked up directly from our hotel in Chania and driven to the 1st beach. Because we were here in off season there was hardly anyone else there. We felt like we had a private beach! The second beach was even more secluded, we saw 4 other people who were walking along the beach, so we basically had our own beach! Leonidas was so great and stopped along the way to show us an awesome cave in the mountains and also stop at a roadside vendor. He showed us some sand structures and a really nice lookout point. We highly recommend this excursion!

George was a great, knowledgeable guide plus a very good driver. This is one tour where you can do the beach and mountain together! Elafonissi beach is amazing. Earlier you go, the less crowded it is plus you get to see the pink sand before it gets disturbed by the people walking on it. Shallow calm and crystal clear waters make it ideal for people of all ages to take a dip in. Cross the island via dry land or via the shallow lagoon and check out the other side for its beauty as well. They do have outdoor changing areas and open showers at the back where the vendors are. We could have stayed here a lot longer if time permitted. But Milia restaurant is definitely not something to miss. Its serene beauty and fantastic flavorful foods are really something to experience all made via wood burning stoves and grown in their gardens. Definitely worth a Michelin star. It was a fine dining experience outdoors and the best tasting food we had in Greece, and we were all over the place for a month. There were 3 of us in our group and another couple joined our group. I can say it was a little tight in the jeep but one has to take a 4WD up into the mountains. The back seat can be tough for someone who is tall or has bad knees because distances are long. But all in all this tour is highly recommended.
