Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- places2seeplaces2goEngland, UK6,416 contributionsHave been to Wales several times over the years, first time though using Prince Of Wales Bridge. How fabulous that you pay nothing to cross it (unlike The Severn Bridge)
Quite a majestic bridge with views either way.Written 31 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - davidwilliambarnesBlackpool, UK1,542 contributionsThe last time we drove over this impressive bridge was 5 years ago and we paid a fiver for the privilege. This time the honour of going into Wales was was free as the toll fee had been abolished. We drove on a lovely clear day so the views were very good. Well worth the effort.Written 14 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rebecca FErith, UK139 contributionsOne of many bridges in the city, provides access to features & amenities on the other side. - One_of_the_BOFsCheltenham, UK7,020 contributionsWe came across this bridge whilst waiting for the nearby Wild Beer to open. It has quite an interesting history and is well worth a short visit if you’re in the area.Written 10 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy HBristol, UK82 contributionsVaults Tour
What an amazing experience this was! Starting from the Visitors Centre on the Leigh Woods side of the bridge, we were given a full Health and Safety briefing where hard hats and high-vis jackets were provided. Right from the start, the tour was informative, very interesting and often humorous. After an explanation next to the bridge tower we were taken down to the vaults via a gravel path and steps. The ladder had wider treads than a normal ladder rung, with solid hand rails on both sides. At each stage we were advised how to proceed and I always felt safe. What a treat as we entered the first vault - who would have known what was underneath the bridge abutment! Entering the second vault meant ducking down through an arch for a few feet. This vault was equally impressive and again another explanation followed. Special thanks to Simon and Phil for their extensive knowledge, attention to detail and very informative talk. This has got to be one of the ‘must see’ tours in Bristol. A thoroughly enjoyable and interesting tour.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Its most enduring habit is the signs to warn you the bridge has swung which seem to light completely at random. Walk beneath it as see BOB - the name given for Brunels Original Bridge which is not being restoredWritten 12 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Haydn G16 contributionsA local icon in Bristol. Grade II listed, as it's been around for monkey's years, a decision which has split opinions. Only a few minutes walk from Temple Meads Station, on an otherwise desolate riverbank. The paint is a bit patchy, but all the best bananas have some spots. Not wheelchair or bike friendly, due to several steps on both sides... Worth a vist if you've got time before your train, why not plant your feet on the smooth(ie) stone tiled deck, just don't slip!Written 13 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
