Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Adrian MYate, UK76 contributionsI visited the SS Great Britain in the summer with my Nephews and Parents.
The whole museum is a great day out, lot's of history and things to see.
The staff are very knowledgeable on the history of the ship and make interesting conversation.
There is two museum bits to have a look around as well as the ship, and a nice little cafe to finish the trip offWritten 27 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A show that was split in 2 halves, each with a different presenter. Both with different styles. Both excellent. I had no pre-conception or expectation on this, but was very pleased and it suited out purpose wonderfully.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ALEXHORDERTorquay, UK123 contributionsExcellent! We spent around 4 hours here but could have done more. Plenty to see and do! Lots to do for the kids. Will come back again in the future!Written 7 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Robert S4 contributionsWe travelled all the way to Bristol to come to this musuem and see the 'Doris the Pliosaurus' in the flesh. What an experience!
We spent most of the day in the museum and loved every minute.

Many things to see and do. Features the history of Bristol.
Surprised to find that it was free entry.
Great view out from the top of the building too.
No problem in recommending. Well worth a visit.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, we had a super couple of hours in the Aquarium. Yes, it was pricey, with a family ticket costing in excess of ÂŁ60, and the guide book wasn't available, but the staff were friendly and knowledgeable and it was far from tiny. Some have mentioned seeing the same tank from different angles, but different fish have different preferences for where they swim so we saw a wide variety. The information provided was comprehensive and the tanks were clean and the fish clearly well looked after.
TL:DR a bit expensive but nice fishies!Written 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I've seen there are quite a few negative reviews which say it only took them 30mins so I think it's a typical you get out what you put it! I was there for total just over 2 hours (including a quick hot chocolate in the cafe) and I'd really recommend just sitting down (lots of seats) and enjoying the atmosphere. I can't say I particularly understood if there was a story behind each room or anything that connected them together but it was a nice way to escape reality for a few hours.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MitzimaiBridport, UK42 contributionsI would give 5* but due to the seating not being staggered both my daughter and myself couldn’t really see very well as we are both only 5’2” and had 2 men in front who were tall which didn’t help. We goto the theatre a lot especially West End and this is the first theatre we have found where the seating to be like this… we were continually going from one side to the other looking around people in front.Written 5 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - susvegaraMadrid, Spain2,260 contributionsGood open shopping center with plenty of shops and restaurants, some of them open late so it's convenient.

Deemed a superlative example of English Gothic style, it was inspiring to gaze at it.
A beautiful tower and spire extends heavenwards to 84 metres. Leaving the enchanted exterior it was wonderful stepping inside.
Stunning ornamentation and decorative flourishes abound. Particularly the columns and arches plus the breathtaking ceiling.Written 20 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a trip down memory lane for 3 of us in our group; 40 years since we started at Bristol University. It was quite an experience being back in the law library and great hall after all these years. Highlights for me were sitting in Winston Churchill’s chair (when he was chancellor of the university) and walking up the tower/ seeing and hearing the bell.Written 6 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sue BNailsea, UK394 contributionsThis is one of Bristol’s great icons, a beautiful tourist attraction & for the locals which is highly recommended to visit..There is no entrance fee but the opportunity to easily leave a valued donation of your choice is greatly appreciated in support of this ancient old beauty of a building. The atmosphere is incredible as you walk around, read the history & soak up the spiritual feeling & beauty of the place. There are other great places to visit & eat, local transport & in easy walking distance. Helpful staff & volunteers willing to give you as much information you require to fulfill your visit.Written 10 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JannerblokePlymouth, UK13,532 contributionsNothing on in the theatre on this night but we saw many people sitting on the area on the left inside the entrance and followed their example before moving on up the road for a few more pints. No regrets, the BOV booze was in good condition, the food tasty and good value, all served efficiently.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BirminghamUKVisitorBirmingham, UK252 contributionsThis is a lovely place to visit. The current anti-slavery exhibition was very moving. Wesley experienced near-riots when he preached against slavery in the chapel. His story was presented in an educational way, with several rooms themed on different aspects of his life. The chapel itself is really peaceful, and the staff are very knowledgeable and welcoming. A quiet and simple Communion service is held on a Friday lunchtime which I found very enjoyable.Written 30 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
