Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The best bar in Milton Keynes. Amazing cocktail, good music and lovely bartenders. I highly recommend to come for 2 for 1 or for the night on Saturday to enjoy atmosphere.

Just introduced two friends to the Eager Poet. They were very impressed with the quality of food and the service. The soup delicious, as was the rest of the meal. Thank you very much.

Not what it says on the tin. It’s more a club for young people. However, as a straight, older couple who used to enjoy clubbing, we unexpectedly found ourselves going to Pink Punters. Didn’t seem like a 🏳️‍🌈 club, more a general night club. We had a great night. Reasonably priced drinks.
Served quickly at bar, able to move around easily, made to feel really comfortable by security, especially Danny- thank you. Danced till dawn with the youngers. Really enjoyed ourselves

Attended the kids Christmas party at the weekend and can honestly say it was great! Lovely decorated, lovely cookies and sausage rolls. My little girl was so happy. Especially seeing santa! You could tell so much effort went into it. Customer service at the bar was great.
Friendly pub with a good atmosphere.

The place was amazing to go and eat at with some friends. Great service when ordering drinks, was told about their being food. Food was amazing, and quick to come to us. The experience we had was enjoyable with friendly faces greeting us and a nice game to play while we laugh.

I was staying in Oldbrook and decided to get out the house. The Cricketers over looks a park. Nice terrace to sit on on a sunny day. I had gammon and chips and apple crumble with pint and a half of lager for £20. Very bright pub with attentive staff. Food was hot and beer cold. Only gripe telly with football on was loud. Fairly boisterous atmosphere. Thank you.

A lovely quaint Free House with guest ales & ciders. The function room or ‘Disco Shed’ at the back has regular events which include: Monday nights every two weeks: Jazz @ The Cannon. Tue: Quiz night. Thur:The Sunset Lounge, Open mic Night. Sat:Meat Raffle and 1st Sun every Month -'That Time Of The Month' comedy night Plus other events such as the annual beer festival. Really lovely and friendly people and a big TV for the sport. Out the back is a smoking area and tables for groups of people to enjoy the sun. A wonderful little pub.

We were staying at a local hotel and were looking for a nice pub to eat out and chose this one from the TA reviews. On arrival unfortunately we were the only people in the pub which was a shame. Has the fish and chips which were lovely and good portions. Friendly staff behind the bar who was obviously trying to keep herself busy. On leaving was thanked by the owner and had a good chat with him about how difficult things are for the hospitality business at the moment. The positives are this place is a nice country pub which is easy to get to, food was lovely and the pub was clean and the staff were friendly, nothing much more they can do to get people to visit. I see from other reviews the atmosphere was great so we just picked a quiet night to visit which was a shame as I am sure with more people in the pub it would have been a different experience.

Just in Aylesbury for a weekend, passed The Aristocrat around 5pm and was unsure if it was a club, pub or wine bar. Anyhow, it was open so we popped in and yes, great it's a pub, a proper pub. Welcoming barman, friendly atmosphere and decent ale. Just the job.

Went with friends for Sunday lunch at the Black Lion for the first time today. The food was really great, I had the trio roast. Really generous portions and obviously all freshly cooked. The staff were really friendly and attentive, couldn’t do enough. Definitely be going back. Highly recommend the black Lion.

A decent craft beer bar, but last time we went the selection was pretty poor, a lot had run out, and fridge was pretty empty. It's usually much better.

Friendly enough on a busy Saturday. It's a short walk from Milton Keynes station. We just popped in for a quick pint. I chose a tasty pint of Bowman, Black Drop. Plenty of light in here due to all the windows. Made a pleasant change from some others in the chain which are often clad in dark wooden panels.
