Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- NatalieMelbourne, Australia83 contributions路线:Start from the nearest train station and head straight to Cambridge Station. Make sure not to buy a ticket to Cambridge South or North Station as they’re a bit far. (By the way, I bought a railcard on Trainpal, and it saved me a lot of money. No need to worry about complicated discount cards—just enter RC777E on Trainpal for a 20% discount. Take advantage of the savings!)
After getting off the train, you can take bus route 1 or 7 to the City Centre, and then walk to Cambridge University and the nearby attractions. Cambridge isn’t large, so walking is totally fine in my opinion.

- Wayne KHamilton, New Zealand1,321 contributionsNice wee village where the church from the TV series Granchester is located. A lovely old village church it is.
The village carpark on the edge of the village wanted €5 for the day to park in a field. No thanks for 45 minutes for the church Andra cup of coffee.Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Seeing the originals of Newton’s notebook and Winnie the Poo is awesome. If you haven’t been before, take a tour, so you learn some of the fascinating history.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nick GMaldon, UK386 contributionsWe only went up the tower (120+ steps in a tight climb), but great views from the top. The ticket provided explained the sights from each side of the tower.
Slightly expensive but it goes to the upkeep.Written 8 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. St. Johns is a beautiful old building with lots of history. My colleagues and I had dinner here after a seminar. Apparently the room we were in used to be the headmasters office. It was a lovely experience, we were all seated around a long banquet table. The staff were great and the food was amazing, possibly the best steak I have ever eaten. I really enjoyed my visit and would thoroughly recommend St. Johns for dinner!Written 18 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The buildings are more modest in style but more attractive. The price is very reasonable and the staff, particularly the Porter's Lodge team, are very friendly and helpful.

Most of the time, admission is free to visitors unlike the big, famous colleges, unless it’s during exam season or a special event. It has peaceful and beautiful grounds, and a very beautiful library and chapel. Reportedly, its weekend brunches (and food overall) are some of the best amongst the Cambridge colleges. A friendly, inviting, and often overlooked place - don’t miss it when you visit Cambridge.Written 27 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Manfred B138 contributionsWe visited this Church whilst having a holiday in Cambridgeshire. There were a number of interesting features to admire, such as the 214-foot Spire, the Stained Glass Windows, Murals and Wooden Statue of the Virgin Mary. Admission was free.Written 27 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Steve StefanopoulosMelbourne, Australia257 contributionsA wonderful surprise for a university college. The room was very clean, comfortable and delightful. The king size single bed was very comfortable and the linen was lovely to sleep on. The room was light and bright. I had a great view over the green.
The room had heating but no cooling. But the windows opened fully to allow fresh air in. There was blockout blinds when needed and cupboard space with an iron board, iron and hair-dryer. There was a full-length mirror in the wardrobe, but it was a little dark to see myself in it.
The adjacent shared bathroom was very clean, modern with excellent water pressure.
Breakfast in the dining room was plentiful and scrumptious. The staff on campus were very friendly and welcoming.Written 24 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Lady was friendly and very helpful in providing us with information as to which parts were accessible to Visitors.
We had a good wander around the Grounds of the College and admiring the Architecture of the Historic Buildings. The visit to the lovely Chapel was memorable.

On arrival we reported to the PLorter's Lodge, where Staff were very welcoming and took time to explain to us the most interesting features.
One aspect which we had not been aware of was the fact that Peterhouse is the only University in Cambridge that has not got "College" or "Hall" included in its name.
Unfortunately we were only able to see the Grounds and Dining Hall as the Chapel was closed for repair work.
We very much enjoyed our visit to Peterhouse.Written 25 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We spent a couple hours here on a lovely sunny day.. the Abbey is well preserved and lots of info boards. The 40s house and shop I found very interesting. The farmland museum had lots to look at and was well organised. Popped in the tearoom for coffee and cake. Friendly staff clean and good quality.. highly recommend.Written 24 September 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnselmColomGrays Thurrock, UK3,065 contributionsWe visited here as part of the Cambridge open day for students. No prior booking. Probably the most friendly and warm welcome we got all day. A lovely tour by an ex student over many buildings with loads of questions. Saw rooms, eating facilities and the library. Central and close to all the amenities and a very old college. This is one you may not know but is super impressive. Beautiful gardens as well as buildings and a lovely vibe about the place.
