Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Stephen DGalveston, TX237 contributionsI have watched concerts from Kings College Chapel almost as long as I can remember. to be able to go there and stand in that space was marvelous. I sat in the choir area and prayed morning office. It was a very moving experience. I was in Cambridge to ordain a priest for my jurisdiction and to be able to say morning prayers in this beautiful structure was almost other worldly.Written 11 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wayne KHamilton, New Zealand1,316 contributionsNice wee village where the church from the TV series Granchester is located. A lovely old village church it is.
The village carpark on the edge of the village wanted €5 for the day to park in a field. No thanks for 45 minutes for the church Andra cup of coffee.Written 25 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We chose scudmores and paid £25 each for 45 min trip. Well worth it though, it’s such a great trip on a punt boat 🚤. It’s harder than it looks so I’d go with a guide!Written 4 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hänschen K1 contributionThe tour with Sonya was amazing, I absolutely loved it!! She gave us a good insight in the history of Cambridge, the people who lived and studied here and what they achieved. All sprinkled with a nice bit of humor along the way.Written 13 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MomDawnSt. Albans, UK353 contributionsWe were lucky that we landed our tour with Charlie- informative and funny!!
Charlie kept up the chatter throughout the whole tour- he also paused to ask another boat if they were OK after a chap "fell" into the Cam.
We booked via Tourist Information after a discussion re the Red Bus Tour which apparently goes "around" Cambridge but the boat tours go thorough the historical area; we would do the tour again and 100% recommend to anyone else visiting Cambridge for the first time.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We found out so much that we did not know before and everyone was super friendly, they even gave us blankets as it was cold. Would deffo do this again if in Cambridge!!Written 3 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- GDMAUSSydney, Australia134 contributionsFor the uninitiated, it's extremely difficult to see the colleges of Cambridge without paying something - the colleges ban visitors so the punts that float up and down the river have a bit of a monopoly taking you past the back of the colleges. A bit expensive but well worth the money if you are a keen photographer. Prices vary and timings can be flexible.Written 24 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Pug296Farnborough, UK142 contributionsWhen in Cambridge, you have to fit a punting tour in…it’s traditional, apparently! £20 per person for the hour and luck of the draw how many you’ll be sharing the boat with and who’ll be punting you, but we had another 5 paying customers and AJ looking after us who was both witty and informative. Feel free to ask questions… he’ll have the answers! A relaxed time spent and highly recommended.
So much more enjoyable than hiring a boat yourself and going around in circles and getting stressed, and potentially paying more… common sense prevails!
