What travellers are saying
- Hazel S1 contributionEnjoy being a member at this zoo as live fairly locally and can visit all year round. Due to being disabled it's always good to be able to book a scooter to use in advance to sometimes give my wheelchair pusher a break.
I always enjoy my visits and looking at and finding out about the many different species of animals & birds etc there.
The well kept gardens and borders interest me too also as a former keen gardener. There is always something of interest all year round.
There are also many places around the zoo to shelter from the rain should that be necessary but I've only occasionally had to do that during the winter months as there are a lot of heated indoor exhibits anyway.Written 9 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A nice shop and a very good coffee shop too.

- NoraatcSudbury, MA39,761 contributionsChester has something very unique: The Rows, the two-tier medieval shopping galleries with their distinctive black and white architecture are over 700 years old! And they still look like new! The shops inside presented no interest to me though. The Rows give charming Chester its very distinctive and recognizable look.Written 1 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Gaynor BOman3 contributionsNote: River Dee Chester originates in wales, it is not the same river Dee that runs through ScotlandGreat City. Lots to do & see.
But fyi, the River Dee in Chester does not originate in Scotland, it flows from Bala in Nortn Wales.
The river Dee in Scotland is a completely different river.Written 28 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a strange mush-mash of natural history and art.. The current exhibitions are from the same century as the building itself: watercolours of Chester by Louise Rayner (1832-1924) and etchings by George Cuitt described as Chester’s greatest Regency artist of ruins from his native North Yorkshire but also of scenes from Chester. The permanent collection in a single room itself has everything from works from Renaissance Italy to a portrait of a young Prince of Wales reminding us of his title as Earl of Chester. Otherwise a collection of stuffed birds, a seal and cases of geological rock specimens. Other areas including a downstairs cafe were swarming with local schoolchildren dressed as ancient Romans.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andy SCoedpoeth, UK46 contributionsThe Lego experience is an amazing piece of work/art. It extensively covers the city centre in details that have to be seen to be believed.

We saw gangs of New York and the actors really blew it out of the park. Great up close performances, you could see their expressions and emotions, hear their voices without microphones. Other staff were very friendly and pizzas were great.Written 25 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - NoraatcSudbury, MA39,761 contributionsThe clock is one of the most famous timepieces in the world and it deservingly attracts a lot of tourists. The close look could be taken from Eastgate you pass on the Walls Walk.
The buildings closer to the clock are those lovely timber black and white houses which make Chester so attractive.Written 9 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
