The app was easy to use, provided informative audio guides, and allowed me to explore the city at my own place of Chester. My Mum had an excellent walking tour of Chester where she learned all about the attractions and places of Chester during the walking tour and she loved it which she did the walking tour of Chester back in September 2023 last year and she loved it. Commentary was clear and informative, shame it wasn't a live person talking instead of a recording like York, but understand this trip is a bit shorter and probably less busy :) overall, we would thoroughly recommend this as a thing to do in Chester - a great way to explore the city! - Sharon WLeicester, UK32 contributionsWe paid £8 per person for a guide to take us around Chester it started at the town hall and we visited the Rows the Eastgate clock the ruined pillars built on the bedrock, the vaulted cellar now in one of the local hostleries was awesome
We also did the walls. Plus a couple of other points. I asked the pink haired man at the entrance "Why is this the only option? He began with the inappropriate, ridiculous, "So", then went on to inform me that this price made our tickets valid for a full year! I suggested, (as I suspect many others have already) that 1. I was only here for the day. and 2. I live 260 miles away, so how many times would I be able to travel to Canterbury to visit the cathedral in the one year, and why would I want to visit more than once, or maybe ever again?? Why on Earth is there not a single day/visit ticket option (maybe £5, pay on entry) for single day visitors? (Some of whom might not even live in the UK?) Such obvious questions that shouldn't need to be asked! It actually looks and feels like a scam! We last visited some 10 years ago and loved the place. It would have been nice to go inside again, but sadly, we were not willing to pay for the £34 season ticket.
