    Just love thus iconic beach.
Our dogs love as it's so dog friendly and plenty of room for them to run and have a paddle.
    A must visit.

Typical Cornish beach with large expanse of yellow sand. Not a surfing beach (although there were some surfers when we visited). Life guard present which was good. Typical large rolling waves so maybe not safe to swim but fine for a spot of wave jumping and paddling. Parking seemed to be mainly on the access road so perhaps a bit limited at peak times, but such a beautiful beach worth a visit.

Possibly the nicest Cornish beach we have ever visited. Stumbled across a cliff top car park for the beach with kiosk selling food and drinks and gently sloping path down to the beach. Plenty of facilities and an opportunity to explore rock pools at the end of this huge expanse of yellow sand. If, like us, you aren’t too keen on crowds, this beach is large enough to escape and find hidden corners to sit and enjoy the sound of the roaring waves. Lifeguard present. Lots of surfing school activity and large rolling waves perhaps making it unsafe for children or less strong swimmers but great for paddling and wave jumping. Stay safe and be mindful of the tides and not getting cut off around the rocky areas.

Look, it's no Chester Zoo... it's not even a Blackpool Zoo, but if you're in the area, wanting something to do for a few hours and you've got little humans in tow, then it's worth a visit. Animals, informative staff, plenty of picnic benches and toilet facilities (inc baby change). There's a play park which anyone with a toddler will know is a win, and a fun slide near the Tarzan Trail. Parking is on the leisure complex, pay and display, was about £4. Book tickets online (even if you're stood in the car park) to save a few £, but I don't usually mind the cost in a zoo as the money goes towards the upkeep anyway. We had a lovely couple of hours - (once my three year old had stopped asking where the giraffes were! 😑)

When I told a friend that I had been on a beach, she told me that beaches were romantic and asked me whether I felt like I was in a film. I told her that it was raning and I felt like I was in a geography field trip. This was, I think, better than the thing that I told the lady who pulled her car up to ask me where the tourist attractions were, as I was walking down to the beach. I told her that we had not found them either - although the toilets had turned out to be open, even though the app said that they were closed. I found a river to watch - see depositing on the inside of the meander and eroding on the outside. It was nice - even if I did have my hat and coat on, in July.

The sandy beach is excellent and the whole scene is first class for surfers and there any a great many of them, from the early morning till sundown, whatever the water temperature.

Beautiful setting, great games to play in the garden. Appalling slow service in the cafe. Friendly staff but just no sense of pace.

A nice big beach, enclosed and not too far from the town with access to handy services for those who don't mind the big stomp up and down the slope.

My son 18 months old really enjoyed swimming in this pool, you can pre book online. We did not stay at the campsite we just visited for the afternoon as it was raining! Indoor pool is nice and warm, slides are great fun! Bonus points for them for kicking out some kid for being rude ;)
