Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful and peaceful place of worship, full of splendid architectural features. Excellent cafe with delicious cake and friendly staff. Signage from cafe was not very clear and had we realised there was outdoor seating we would have used it but all in all well worth a visit.

Lovely birthday treat with a friend. Recommend going early before it gets busy. Beautiful gardens. Well maintained. Excellent lunch in the cafe afterwards.

We were met by the proprietor at the door, a lovely, knowledgeable person who was enthusiastic, and proud of his museum and rightly so! A wonderfully comprehensive collection of fossils and tour through the earth's history. A must for anyone with even a modicum of interest about the world around them. Simply brilliant, worth every penny of the entrance fee. Allow at least an hour of your life on this planet to visit, any less is would be a travesty.

We’ve been before by walking all the way from Swanage. This time we parked at studland and walked from there, we were lucky it was a beautiful day. It’s a good path that’s mostly flat. Beautiful views . I recommend after going down to South beach/ middle beach- lovely stretch of beach - especially good for little ones.

A very nice place, plenty of parking, food outlets and beach access.

There’s a ferry and seafood shop, although check if you want locally caught sea food.

We had the most amazing time, it was excellent, my little boy (4) was mesmerised with the information and little treasures (acorns, leaves, nuts) can honestly say Carol & Gary made the experience super thrilling and captured all our attentions through out our journey, we were fortunate to have the best weather so cruising around the Dorset country side was epic. I would highly recommend the experience for all ages, my little boy still talks about it nearly a year on. A massive Thank you to Carol & Gary for being so fantastic!

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first trip to Lyme Regis but was pleasantly surprised by this little museum and the artifacts it held! There was lots to see and the building itself was just lovely! We got involved with a fun print making workshop and spent some time chatting to the lovely ladies working that afternoon.

    Would recommend!

I’ve just had the most amazing morning with these guys flying owls and other birds of prey , on my ultimate experience that I had for my birthday .
I’ve always wanted to do this and today my dream came true
A big thank you to Connie and Kyle who are really knowledgeable and experienced in their field !
It was actually a privilege to be able to do this and I’d love to do it again ,
I flew two owls ,Alfie (think Connie said he was an African little owl ) but I was too in awe of him because he’s so cute , apologies if I got that wrong , Rosie , my all time favourite, a barn owl and always wanted to see one up close , Milo a gorgeous Harries hawk and probably a favourite now …Robyn the hooded vulture who had such a character. Then being able to hold Winnie an amazing bald eagle was really something so special ,thank you all for my unforgettable morning ,I can’t stop talking about it .

Purchased by a trust and restored to working condition in the early 2000’s this is an interesting historic water mill. You can see the millers grinding flour and learn about how the mill works.

In the mill yard there is also a brewery and pottery to visit.

Whenever we come to Dorset we have to visit here. The setting is quite beautiful, a perfect example to tourism of an English old cottage!
Having parked we went to the cafe for a cup of tea. Sitting outside next to a bird feeder we were treated to about seven different species of birds, bullfinches, sisken, greenfinch, goldfinch to name a few. Could have stayed there for hours.

Managed to do both walks (each one about an hour if going slowly) wonderful views of lake/castles (old and new). Tour of ‘new’ castle takes around an hour with lots of interest for those who find tours fun. Garden centre at from entrance has a great selection of plants and a good tea room.

This museum is amazing! We were completely blown away with the exhibits - on three floors. The ground floor is about dinosaurs and the area, the second is about the people and how they live in the area and the third is an art gallery. The space and curation of the museum is one of the best I have ever visited. The annotation and the way the exhibits are shown is clear and creative. There are additional drawers at lots of places that can be pulled out to see additional exhibits. There is also on the ground floor the only roman tiled floor that you can actually walk on! The cafe is such a great space and the food and cakes were exceptional. I cannot recommend highly enough this museum and if you can you should visit.

Riding this ferry was the highlight of our ride on the Purbeck Breezer No. 50 bus from Swanage to Bournemouth. The bus ride is spectacular and should be an activity in itself. You can never be sure how long the journey will take you so be patient as it all depends on the line of traffic queueing to pay for the ferry and then waiting to board the amazing chain ferry for the short ride over to Sandbanks.
I have never been on one of these on top of a double decker bus in my life. Certainly one for the memory box!
