Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had no clue this place existed but a great little find. Small enough to feel intimate but big enough to feel like a decent venue. You always know you’re in for a good ride with Stephen Grant at the helm! So quick thinking and literally funny to the core! A great night of comedy! And Zoe Lyons dealt with the actual scrap in the audience beautifully!
Only thing we’d say is there was quite a lot of noise coming from a different area through a door near us, and the staff (not security) walking backwards and forwards a lot during acts was a bit distracting.
We had a great time and everyone really enjoyed it! Not seen Raul Kohli before but definitely one to watch out for! And Zoe was hilarious from start to finish!!!!! We will definitely be back.

Ideally I would like to give private feedback about this issue but I cannot find a facility to do so. There is no email to be able to contact the Komedia club directly and when I tried to call there was no way to speak to somebody or leave a message.

I gave 4 stars as overall my friend and I had a really good night. We attended last Friday, the staff we are very friendly and helpful, and we really enjoyed the compare and the second and third comedians.

The first comedian, Jo Neary was not particularly my cup of tea, but most importantly what she did at the end of her act was very much not funny and could really cause upset. She started off by doing an ‘interpretative dance’ which ended up in her pretending to hang herself, whilst having a song playing singing ‘I can’t live if living is without you’. The friend I was with at the show is a police officer and in the course of her work has found 2 teenagers hanging (at the same time) and had to deal with the aftermath of this. I also had a work colleague who found her son hanging in their garage when he found out the girl he liked was with somebody else. Jo does not know who her audience are and what experiences they may have had. There was no warning that something of this nature may happen, and it keeps popping back into my head as a very unpleasant memory (the song has become a bit of an ear worm). I am not a stick in the mud at all, but comedians need to consider how their act may land. Could you please give this feedback to Jo Neary. Many thanks.

If you are able to share this privately with the club and not publish I would be very happy. Thank you.

Happened upon this little secret gem on a wet Sunday evening. The quality of the performers really impressed. Elliot, accomplished musician with acerbic wit and haphazard (but hilarious) hosting. Then fabulous three-piece band ‘Get The Water’. Virtuoso musicians all three. Some of the best I’ve seen. What a treat!

This was booked as part of a special occasion and we were left with such a sour taste and so disappointed. On arrival we were welcomed by Ellie the compare for the night, who was really bubbly and lovely. In the room, I would describe it as a lounge with chairs in theatre style and could seat up to about 30 people. The numbers in the room were about 25 so we were excited as thought it would be a really personal and intimate gig. In front of us we found 8 chairs reserved for a group celebrating a 40th birthday. The guy and his wife were in fine spirits and to start with, he seemed to want to keep her in check but this changed the drunker he got. All the comedians throughout the night paid so much attention to them, pandering to the hackling it made the evening uncomfortable. The guy was so drunk in the end he was only able to talk using one word at a time but still disturbed the evening. We thought this evening would improve when the headline act got on stage, as if she had done her set it would have been really funny but then the night hit a really low point was when drunk guy left the room for the umpteenth time to go to the toilet and the comedian on stage suggest that his wife get on stage to see if he noticed when he got back. The comedian stripped off her t shirt (tastefully) and gave this to the woman but then the guy took an age to come back and it was really uncomfortable with a very drunk woman on stage. The couple next to us stopped laughing quite early on in the evening and it was pointed out that our row much have thought we were in a mad house. This guy should have been asked to leave, but with the comedians pandering to him - it monopolised the whole evening and was a total waste of time and money when we had gone with such high expectations and hoping to have a good laugh - would we go again - no chance - would we recommend - no way. Such a shame and maybe the comedians should have remembered that there were other people in the room also there for special reasons and travelled especially to see the show.
