Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- QuinLabRatReading, UK109 contributionsConfusing arrival as no disabled parking signs or clear entrance to pool as main building appears to be a cafe and library.
Reasonably priced
Coffee van on site - nice iced latte.
2 lanes plus free swim area, come early to avoid the kids. Separate little splash zone as well.
Staff didnt ask if i had been before so i had to ask where changing rooms were etc.
Not many loungers, so bring a picnic blanket.Written 21 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Is this the best kept, friendliest snooker/pool hall/sports bar in the country? I think it could well be. Plus the new food menu is epic.Written 26 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ella J1 contributionI went here with 2 of my friends and we had a lovely time. We used the sauna which was very clean and well functioning. Simon provided us constant top ups of filtered water which was a lovely bonus. The plunge bath was a fantastic addition to the day and even afterwards Simon was kind enough to offer to take photos of us all in the plunge bath. All in all, a fantastic experience and would definitely do again.Written 26 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dan TravisBrighton and Hove, UK3 contributionsWe did a three-day pro training program with the Art of Winning. It was an intensive and detailed look at how we can improve his tennis players. It was an incredible experience and something we can’t wait to repeat.
We stayed at the Travelodge opposite which is literally a minute away from the Tennis Courts , we then had the late afternoon and evening to enjoy Brighton which is an amazing city. We played as a group and more introduced to other players from the Art of Winning community. We would highly recommend the Art of Winning program in Preston Park.Written 6 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. People walk in with outdoor shoes on. It is always so cold in there, too. The showers are either freezing cold, scalding hot, or not working at all. The pool design is OK, but the single slide is hardy ever open, and the water fountains are often not operational for children's play. The water is often really cold in the pool, too
Essentially, no one cares about it. I can see why there is zero investment in improving it as the council keeps telling everyone that it is going to be demolished and replaced. It could be made so much better without demolition. The demolition line is just an excuse for the council to do nothing, and it has been the same excuse for 20 years!
Sadly, it is the only option locally in Hove. The other option is the Prince Regent in town centre, but that is a pain to get to by bus as the bus stop is a long way away with a small child or in poor weather, although it is a bit better and cleanerWritten 27 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The booking system has a very poor user experience and the classes are often inaccessible because it is necessary to book a long time in advance, because the classes fill up so fast- If the classes are really so popular, they need to provide more so that we can actually use our memberships to keep fit without having to build my whole life around getting into aquafit classes.
I suspect that is is due to more to basic flaws in the user experience of the booking system- are making the classes seem more popular because the system works so badly- it's not possible to cancel a booked class online for example. In short, the booking system excludes a lot of people and it does not comply with basic usability standards. I have talked to Freedom Leisure about this but they don't seem to understand or care. I am not usually someone who writes negative reviews, but we have limited access to aquafitness classes in Brighton, and whoever is in charge of their website and apps needs to educate themselves about making a usable user experience.Written 28 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
