Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Had a lovely afternoon, a round of golf with a couple of beers after in the clubhouse. What made it such a pleasant experience was Martin - from taking our initial booking to serving us in the bar. He went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him - he was great company and a real asset to the club. Thank you Martin - really enjoyed our afternoon and getting to know you. Hope to meet up with you again!

Great traditional downland course(JH Taylor) with some serious history, played by some of the greats of the game - Vardon, Faulkener etc.New owners have taken on the challenge from Brighton council and already made some great improvements to greens/surrounds etc. This is definitely one for your golf CV. The views across Brighton and the English Channel are spectacular and even with this course, work in progress, it was a hugely enjoyable experiece.

You either love links golf or you hate it. This is a very friendly club that I have played a couple of times - but if the wind blows (as it can do on the South Coast) you need your wits about you. The course itself is in good condition and (as you would expect) dries quickly. We had 4 seasons in one day in June but again you have to be prepared for that.

The course itself is an interesting mixture. It's not flat (like some links courses) so some holes are protected from the wind. Indeed on some holes you dont feel you are on a links course at all. But as I say, when it blows, you have the age old problem of aiming in a different direction to where you want the ball to end up.

All the same it's great fun. 24 points was a meagre return this time but that wont put me off and it should not do for others. Good pint of Harveys in the bar afterwards aswell.

I have happy memories of my sons playing golf there - but the golf course is no more - and the land is now part of Beacon Hill Nature Reserve.

The old refreshment hut / ticket office has become The Beacon Hub Cafe Kiosk having been granted a fifteen year, rent-free lease by Brighton & Hove City Council.

The Beacon Hub’s aim is to redevelop the building for education and to develop a community arts programme intended to make the most of the stunning views and beautiful countryside. It’s hoped this will inspire old and young to be more creative, promote well-being through health-walks, sports activities, disabled access and enjoyment for all.

It has to said that, perched on the edge of the South Downs overlooking the sea, it’s a perfect location to teach both children and adults about land and marine conservation.
