Lovely place to visit if you like quirky shops. Make sure when you have been down George street you continue up the hill on, on High street for more shops and turn right into Courthouse street for a few hidden gems.
Plenty of places to eat in or take away and sit on the beach, just beware of the seagulls!

This was a good unique museum with lots of interesting artefacts. It’s fairly tight to get around with a wheelchair, but doable if someone is pushing.

There are lots of interesting items from murderous and criminal histories and they are fascinating to see.

Spent about 90 minutes there and did not read everything. So a good visit.

Visited on Tuesday 8th October 2024. It was a damp and dreary day, so the attraction itself was quiet. The staff were very explanatory and advised that the floors are not even and there is not a great amount of lighting so you do need to tread carefully. The video presentation at the start of "Hairy Jack" is very interesting and full of facts; we really enjoyed hearing how the caves are haunted and were used as air raid shelters during the War from enemy bombing raids. There were a lot of interactive exhibits, for example you could feel how heavy some items being smuggled on to the country were, what they were smuggled on with (being hidden in books and other food), but we really enjoyed the whole lot! The only downside was some areas of the caves have no visibility at all and I tripped a few times (I'm clumsy anyway) but some vague lighting, such as is available in the cave entrance, may have helped.

An absolute gem! The lovely man working there took the time to show my son how to tie various knots and showed him all the dinosaur fossils. Highly recommended.

Visited Hastings many times before but our first visit to the museum. It is definitely worth the detour from usual seafront sights. Free entry :) Great 1920s building. Loved the Durbar Hall -amazing. Also interesting exhibitions on the history of Hastings, mods v rockers, etc Nice gift shop too. Would bring the teenagers along another time.

It's over £6 to visit we walked the back streets to get up so it wasn't that bad to get up there however it is disappointing and not much to see or learn from eg a tour guide and didn't take long to see the place.
