Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Pea L1 contributionJust lovely!
My partner and I ambled in (on the off chance) and we were not only greeted by the warmest of welcomes but equally a couple of the most refreshing pints we’ve had! Especially after tackling the White Cliffs!
The food was Hot and Hearty and absolutely hit the spot!
If you’re in town, pop in, you won’t be disappointed and if you’re not make the trip! We will when back again.Written 17 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GoToGate13Whitfield, UK226 contributionsThe last time I was here I was with a guy with a bittersweet face. His name was Ebeneezer.
He was the main geezer and he could vibe up the place like no man other could.
He is the type of geezer who should never be abused.Written 18 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They played different songs to other pub / wedding bands I’ve seen. The atmosphere in the pub was great. The staff were friendly and the drinks are very reasonably priced. It was mainly local people and it was lovely for me to see some old friends and have a dance and a giggle. I can highly recommend the Boar’s Head for a great night out whether you live locally not. Thank you Karen and staff for lifting my spirits (and a glass or two of cider) I’ll see you again soon xWritten 18 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
