Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The Pantiles is by contrast a wonderful presentation of quality antiques through the ages spaciously displayed in its superb Georgian setting. This is a visually appealing venue for the serious collector where the proprietors are always ready to share their expertise and to advise their clients. Their programme of informative social events adds a social dimension with the opportunity of meeting fellow collectors.
To understand the range they cover, visit their website first (scottishantiques.com) and browse the categories in the menu, which gives informative details of current and past items for sale. Checking on the cost of items in your field will quickly enable you to establish the reasonableness of the pricing.
As any collector knows establishing a rapport with a specialist dealer is the best way of developing their own knowledge and expertise and the most certain way of being assured of value for money. I have been collecting antique glass for over fifty years and for some twenty years have bought glass from Scottish Antiques, who are the moving spirits behind the Pantiles Arcade. Initially this was via their website but the opening of The Pantiles Arcade has given the added benefit on my visits to Kent not only of visual inspection of their extensive stock of antique and art glass but also the opportunity of enjoying other aspects of the range of quality items on display with the benefit of their ever informative input.Written 14 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
