Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Hannah KateCardiff, UK65 contributionsReally helpful staff in the shop and the lady from upstairs who arranged the trips. Our guide arrived late and when we called the shop weren’t able to get any contact details to track him down but thankfully he arrived soon after. One of the group had underestimated the challenge and had to turn back after an hour. Our guide had to help him back down so put me in charge and sent us onwards. The track was fairly easy to follow but with phone signal issues it was a little nerve wracking whether we would be able to find him again. Luckily we did and after that there were no further issues. The hike itself was great and it was good as a solo traveller to have a group of people to chat with and to help each other along the challenges of striding edge. Our guide was kind enough to drive some of the others back to Ambleside as they had to get a taxi in the morning, not realising that we were making our own way to Glenridding. Overall a really good day bar a few minor issues. I would definitely book a day hike again through adventure peaks.Written 14 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Charlotte BBeeston, UK9 contributionsCalled on the day hoping that we could get a last minute bike hire for 2 adults and they could not have been more accommodating when we called on the mobile to enquire. They have vans set up around the area which we could walk to, specifically in Bowness in our case. They helped us set up the seat height, let us have a test and then supplied a helmet! Super easy returns and we had the most fantastic day out. From Bowness we hopped on the bike/car/pedestrian Ferry to the West side of the lake and then ended up cycling North and all the way back to the drop off. Really great day and bikes were really fun, highly recommend!Written 9 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Paul J2 contributions7 Friends and I hired e-bikes for the day (I had previously been 4 weeks ago with my son).
We had a fantastic day out (even with the rain) thanks for the first class bike and service provide by the team at Bike Treks.
Bikes were fantastic (and Cafe), batteries lasted for the full duration (even on turbo with some heavy loads.....) and we were looked after by the Team.
Thank you we will see again!Written 11 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
