I have wanted to visit Lincoln Cathedral for some time and enjoyed my visit. The lady welcomer was pleasant and pointed out that the entrance fee included a guided tour. The nave was set up for performances so limited the view there but the restaurant and exhibition centre had a lot to offer. A long climb up but well worth it.

Lots of interest to see and enjoy. Even walking around inside for free is well worth it, but paying the entry to see the old prison, magna carta, and walk the walls is money very well spent. Helpful staff.

Such a great place, had a guided tour and found out so much about the site and the people it represents. Staff were friendly and the cafe reasonably priced. Great for an afternoon out.

Our group of 15 enjoyed our lunch in their excellent café followed by a tour of the house. The guides were very good and explained the various highlights of each room.
Well worth a visit. This house is not NT so you will have to pay for the tour.

This museum has been on my to do list for a few years. The Heritage Centre celebrates the history of RAF Scampton and the famous 617 Dam Busters squadron, which is still active, but now based at a different station.
The centre is staffed by mainly ex-RAF service people and very much benefits from their passion for the subject and sense of duty and history. There were some great insights and anecdotes along the way which bring the service and those who served in it to life! The sacrifices made by very young men become even more poignant.
I was sad to hear the the airfield has been sold and that the future of the Heritage Centre is uncertain. Given that the Dam Busters is one of the most famous squadrons and unique missions that the RAF has ever carried out, a way must be found to preserve as much of the extensive and historical collection as possible, as well as Guy Gibson's office and other parts of the hangar.
Visits, where possible have to be arranged in advance for security reasons, see the RAF Scampton web page.

Excellent museum - and more! Was really impressed by the exhibitions, and also a good amount of information on local archaeology. Also extremely entertained by the robot tour guide! Staff were really friendly too - I met Carly who was happy to chat and talk about the various destinations in Lincoln, and she pointed me to the Usher Gallery just next door which was also a great place. Well recommended and worth seeking out.

Apart from the great walks the site boasts a great cafeteria. Main go to are the vegan/gluten free options but the other cakes and food look great.

We visit every year (bar snow or cancellations) we always enjoy (and to some degree endure) this tradition!

Not as many stalls as usual and the park and ride was a bit of a fiasco given it closed and people weren’t informed.

Nevertheless we had a good day and will almost certainly return next year too! It’s the best way to start our festivities.

Range of stalls for food, jewellery, drinks, scarves etc

Myself and my daughter had the privilege of seeing a Jamie marcus production of this years panto aladdin at the drill Hall Lincoln. We have to say it was the best panto we have seen in a long time, from start to finish it was funny fast moving and the music and lighting were amazing nice to see live music and such talented actors, singers and crew who put this show together, front of house staff were amazing and a very reasonably priced bar. I can't recommend this pantomime enough get yourselves that and have a fantastic time. #lincolnsbestpanto

This is not just a museum for old busses most of the exhibits are fully serviced road worthy exhibits . It's not just busses either but cars and various other forms of road transport all renovated to a very high standard.
Staff are friendly and only too pleased to explain the detail of any of the exhibits. This place is a little gem but only open Sunday afternoon s at the moment following the covid restrictions.
Plenty of examples of Lincoln busses and other rare vehicles .
If you are a bus enthusiast you really need to be here if you are not it's still a great way to spend an hour or so on a Sunday afternoon.
