Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

    Took the plunge today—literally!

I signed up for the Winter Swim Induction with Activities Away, expertly led by Paul and the Lobster Squad. To say I was nervous is a bit of an understatement, but a big smile from Paul and his confident "you'll be fine" helped a lot.

Everything he explained during the induction was spot on - getting in, acclimatising, setting off, breathing out, and being aware of how you’re feeling. My neck felt cold on the first leg, so I ducked my head under the water and voilà, all was good. I checked my 'claws' on the last leg and thought, "Maybe I could do another lap," so I got out, more sound advice.

I felt great, just a bit of shivering while putting my top on. I layered up quickly with a top, hoodie, and jacket, and then headed back to the café for a brew (and a bacon sandwich—I couldn't resist!).

I was buzzing afterward, and even a couple of hours later, I still felt amazing. My skin feels great too. Huge thanks to Paul, the lifeguards, and the rest of the Activities Away team—you’re the best!

If you’re interested, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. Now's the perfect time to take the plunge!

For the second year running, we have had an interesting, interactive and brilliantly led tour of Roman Lincoln. Our two classes of Year 4 children loved finding out about how the Romans lived in Lincoln and were fascinated that there were so many remains still standing from so long ago. Our guides, Matt and Marissa, were friendly and very approachable, encouraged questions and helped the children's understanding with excellent picture resources. One of my boys commented afterwards 'the guides descriptions were really good, so that when I closed my eyes I could imagine the Roman structures still being there.' Excellent value for money and we have already booked again for next year.

Great ghost hunt, learning a lot about local history as well as creepy tales. Very reasonably priced at £7.50 (please bring cash) for about a 75 minute walk. Never been to the area before so an excellent way to look around too. Many thanks

When we arrived unfortunately Oliver wasn't operating due to mechanical issues but our host Chrissy offered us a trip on the Wally boat. We accepted and were provided with life jackets even the dog had one. We were given safety instructions and then loaded on the boat. What a great way to see parts of Lincoln and so much fun.
The boat was very sturdy and made the trip relaxing and enjoyable. Will definitely go again brilliant experience

I luckily caught the sightseeing bus on the last weekend it was running for the season. I caught the double decker bus at the start in front of Lincoln Cathedral on the first tour of the day and was their first passenger of the day and the only one on the bus so had the personal guide , Alan for the tour. It was sunny day and early morning so no traffic on the road and the best way to get around city. It is quickest way to see city if don't have much time and to have someone explain the history is fantastic bonus. You get on and off around the sights or like me stay on tour all the way around. One of best thing you can do in Lincoln. Thank you to friendliness and professionalism of the staff.

Fab day out, little cruise up to Saxilby and just passed, then turn around and stop in Saxilby for a pint. Then back past Burton Waters and into Bayford Warfe for lunch. Took the dog she loved it. None of us had really captained 😂 a boat but it was easy and great fun.
Staff at Burton Waters were great really nice and helpful.

The trip was amazing, they came around with food at the top deck and they had a full blown bar downstairs with drinks and food. It also had a toilet and they speak through the intercom about where we are. And also, we turned around right under a bridge! The ship was quite old and paint was coming off, but overall, I would go again!

I read about Hidden Lincoln on somebody's blog, and contacted Ivan prior to a holiday my mum and I were taking in the town. I am so glad I did. He tailored a walking tour for us and we spent two hours on a super interesting tour of the town with him. He was an absolute mine of information and interesting history and stories, and showed us all sorts of quirky little things that we'd never have spotted without him. Thoroughly recommend, and if I go back to Lincoln I would definitely try to book him again.

I have to be honest I hadn't even been aware of the existence of this place as hadn't been mentioned at all in any guides I had seen and then just walked by it on the way to the football ground. Its the opposite way to the High Street most tourists go but well worth a visit if you like a decent beer at a decent price and a friendly welcome.

This is one of Lincoln's hidden gems for me in a city that has a lot of good pubs.

We did this on a rare day off as something we could do that was different. It was so much fun, me and the boyfriend trying to solve the clues. We learnt a lot about the city that we didn’t already know. As I am a yellow belly I really enjoy that.
The puzzles can be very puzzling but we managed without the prompts.
Thank you killer trails!!! So much fun!

Couldn't have been better. Great guide to the Cathedral, pointed out imaginative photo opportunities, gave excellent camera tips when needed. A true professional.

Extremely bad service for school coaches, constantly late with half arsed excuses... leaving kids to wait... half an hour late today again for the Gainsborough to De Aston school run.

An excellent entertaining and informative 60 minute tour of the old and new towns of Lincoln. A great way to preface a visit to Lincoln City Centre.
Great tour guide (Leslie) and very talented driver (Frank).

Stay at this place for two nights in one of ten caravans which were very clean and comfortable, and fishing in one of the two lakes was superb, would highly recommend and will be going back there most certainly.
