Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

For a free entry museum I thought it was excellent , it’s not massive but it’s really well done , lots for all ages and interests. A must see is one of the first tanks ever built which even if you have no interest it is pretty special

The tour was given by Colin Hill he was so good and had a great knowledge of the Guildhall.
    Thanks for the visit

It was raining when we arrived, so a visit indoors was the obvious start.
The welcome staff did just that. The unprepossessing entrance gives into one end of a hall, and we were made welcome with the sensation of visiting, say, an elderly relative for the first time. We didn't know each other, yet, but were nevertheless pleased to see each other.
The audio tour was explained, a little of the background to the Hall and ownership given and we were given free rein to wander around. My query about the table was answered fully and completely, and led to more explanation about carvings, which had a distinctly Gibbons-esque quality from a distance, but were made by a former owner.

The table, it turned out, was recent, and from a single fallen oak, yielding a one piece top around 6 metres in length. The whole with cunning breadboard ends and pleasantly chunky underframe on turned pillars.

The rest of the Hall is full of interest, and made the more so by the audio introduction to each room being made by the owners Claire and James, with their comments and reminiscences 'We used to roller skate in this room' lends a very human level of appreciation totally missing from many similar locations. Knowledgable and approachable room stewards who were happy to explain and discuss details.

The rain stopped, we toured the exceptionally soggy formal gardens, which are really worth another visit when the season has moved on and the plantings are flourishing.

If you're just nipping out to take in some air and enjoy a brisk walk, you can't go wrong here. Parking isn't the best however and the facilities are sadly lacking. But to just get out there and stretch your legs, you can't go far wrong.

Such a lovely day out, discovering the history of 106 Squadron in Bomber County.
All the volunteers were so friendly and helpful, and so knowledgeable! We loved the opportunity to go inside the Dakota.
The on-site cafe is great value and everything is served with a smile.
Our teens were happy to wander around and read the informative displays, but there were younger children there enjoying a trail also.
Don't forget to head out for a drive around the runways on your way home!

We visited on an Open Day and were fortunate to be able to take a journey in one of the Museums restored buses, The Museum is crammed with 65 vehicles that have been restored to a very high standard and artefacts that evoke nostalgic memories. Volunteers were keen to show us round and share their interest. The site is far larger than it appears from the road and includes workshops where ongoing restoration and maintenance is being undertaken. The Museum is well worth a visit and very deserving of support.

I live nearby and never tire of visiting Whisby nature park. Different walking routes of varying distances mean that you can change your route from time to time to keep your interest. The nature of the seasons means that the views are rarely the same and Whisby is a lovely little idyll well worth visiting. The visitor centre has a splendid cafe serving food from breakfast to dinner with a wide selection of meals on offer.
It's the walks you're there for however, it's a dog walkers paradise for instance. There are bird hides at every turn, dotted around the lakes that you'll amble by as you enjoy the stroll. In order to escape the concrete jungle park your car at the inexpensive car park and do take in the fresh air and enjoy your day at Whisby.

These are the best scones around. We are out most days around Worksop, Retford, Gainsborough and this is the best for scones. Really excellent. Everything else very good with really friendly staff. Great for a walk to see the donkeys and horses too.

We visited this antique centre which has many dealerships. Some interesting items from large furniture to small boutique items. Good tea shop with excellent cheese scones cake and coffee.

    What a venue!

Well stocked bar, friendly staff and best of all, the VR was amazing.

The staff couldn’t do enough for us, so tentative and some great gaming recommendations.

Thank you so much, highly recommended.

Had I seen the queue I wouldn't have turned into the drive thru..... however I did and subsequent cars behind meant no chance to turn around. The double lane goes back into a single lane (two serving stations would be better, although it was still fairly swift).

The ice cream itself was very nice (not as good as Thymars in my opinion)

Once again a fabulous meal with attentive service. The pub was festooned with amazing Christmas decorations. Impossible not to feel Christmassy! What a special Christmas Eve.

A really fun evening activity, with lots of history of the local area and some spooky stories. Our guide was very funny, and a great storyteller. Overall, would recommend.
