The Royal Albert Dock is a great waterfront area of Liverpool that I always enjoy visiting.
Constructed from designs from architect's Jesse Hartley and Philip Hardwick and opened in 1846 ,the port and dock area served the city for many decades but fell into disrepair in the 1970's with the decline of shipping entering Liverpool, redevelopment followed in the 1980's and the former warehouse buildings converted into pubs, bars, cafe's and restaurants and some of the best museums in the city, its a great place to visit, lots going on and very popular, it has to be one of the big tourist attractions of Liverpool, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning a trip to Liverpool.

We had a great experience visiting the tunnels. Our guide, Tony, was brilliant in taking us through the history of the tunnels and some of the amazing artefacts found there. We had such a lovely time that we're going to get a membership.

The stadium tour at Goodison was absolutely great. Our guide Ronnie Proffitt did a fantastic job - lots of interesting informations and funny stories, too. Unforgettable moments and we took great photos and videos: stadium, locker rooms, trophys... Wonderful experience!

My wife and myself wanted to visit this museum on our short visit to Liverpool. First things first. This museum is on 3 floors. All is free except for the Holly Johnson experience where there is an entry fee. If you don't know who he is or are not interested in Frankie goes to Hollywood, then it is best to give it a miss. You can give a £5 donation which I did as the museum is very interesting and is after all free. So many museums are expensive and offer little.

We started at the top floor. This is designed to show the cultural & sporting achievements of Liverpool and the local area. You will find a lot of information on film, music, theatre and all things sport in the area. There is also a short film about the Liverpool/Everton rivalry. There is also on the other side of the 2nd floor very interesting information on the social demographics and the museum does not hide that Liverpool in one of the poorest cities in the UK either now or in the past. You have to give it 100% for the honesty. I would have liked to see more about modern day Liverpool. I don't feel that it had anything with that but maybe I did not look in the right area.

The other 2 floors deal with nature, history of Liverpool and surrounding areas, the Port of Liverpool and its history, history of how soldiers from Liverpool contributed to the British area and there is a museum shop on the ground floor. It is very interesting but also feels a bit disjoined and at times you did not know what you were looking at. Some areas felt a bit mixed up with information about different areas near each other.

I spent an hour and a half there but if you are very interested in what is on display and looked at the various films etc, you could easily be there for at least 3 hours. Altogether a nice way to know a bit more about Liverpool and its surrounding and it is set in the beautiful surroundings of Pier Head.

Closing in January for a much needed revamp. Lighting was poor and lost of things not working. The exhibits were very biased and did not tell the complete story of Liverpool. Very disappointed with the slavery exhibition as a mixed race person I came away with the distorted impression that only white Europeans were involved in the slave trade. Hope the new museum addresses this sensitive topic more fairly

Have visited this museum twice while on holiday and it’s such a brilliant place! Staff are so friendly and having 2 boys with autism means that some places can be overwhelming but we found this museum had such a nice feel to it and so much to see and do! We have visited many museums over the uk and as a family we have all said this is our favourite!

Based on William Brown Street, stepping back in time is what it feels like here. I thought the balance of modern and classical heritage was amazing. The Picton reading room is truly a remarkable place to read, sit, and think, very inspiring and a place packed full of history.

You can walk around and take up the brilliance of the amazing library.

Loved this museum - such a personal collection. Fascinating to see all the items - letters, postcards, clothes, photos, instruments - everything! Spent a very happy couple of hours here in our Beatles pilgrimage.

Visited on Sunday 10th November as a group of 10 (adults & children) As we were looking where to sit a lovely lady came over and put tables together so we could sit together. We had a lovely lunch. Food was really nice & soup was so tasty, the children enjoyed their meals too. The coffee was really nice too. We had a chat with Sandra who was serving us, she was very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Before we left we had a walk round outside, saw Leon & June’s bench. It’s a little gem of a place we will be. back.

An iconic statue of the Fab Four, in their hometown. The Beatles Statue arrived on Liverpool's Waterfront in December 2015. Donated by the famous Cavern Club, the placement of the statue coincides with the 50 year anniversary of the band's last gig played in Liverpool, at the Liverpool Empire Theatre.

Back again for a lovely walk around the lake and into the park, mid-morning on a Tuesday. Good to see the changing colours in the sunshine also the wildlife. Plenty of free parking around the park, though this is likely to get busy at weekends. Totally safe, plenty of people about. Yes we will go back again and again, for maybe 2-3 hours at a time
