Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

We booked a table last night for two friends birthdays. One of which uses a wheelchair.
I just want to say a massive thank you to ALL of the staff. Bar team and security. They were so helpful and kind. Nothing was too much. We would 100% like to come back.
Can I make a suggestion that you have one area of lower seating so that if we visit again we could all sit at the same level as her as she couldn’t get up on the high seating.
(Luckily I visited that day so asked if I could bring a lower chair that evening for her) the staff were fine with me bringing a chair but would be nice if there was a lower seating are for wheelchair users and friends.
Thank you for all your help. We had a great night.

It was the second and final night of our English tour. "Yes. This place knows what it's doing." I said with undying clarity despite two drinks into the evening. With the stoic zeal and faith of a religious fanatic, I quietly added, "Nothing in this bar will let me down."

My wife and I are always on the lookout for elite classic cocktail bars when we visit new places. We were lucky enough to visit Lyaness on our first night. We vowed to return a a week later, at the end of our expedition around England, and we did.

I do not exaggerate when I say Lyaness is up there with iconic experiences like Tiki Ti in Los Angeles, The Aviary in Chicago, and Death & Co. in NYC. Bartender skill and execution are common these days. Classic cocktails are passé.
Practically every city has a "every-drink-is-excellent," go-to, everyday bar. What sets Lyaness and the elite bars apart is the journey the bar and staff takes you through during the visit. Lyaness' menu is a literal storybook, The staff are not only masters of the shaker, but also skilled weavers of these tales.

With thesaurus.com open in another tab right now, I can go on and on about Lyaness.
However this Siembra Valles has taken its toll on me. I will only summarize my review with this - Lyaness alone is at least worth the price of an economy plane ticket from the US to London.

This was our 3rd year at the Christmas Brunch, we had a lovely time and it’s great value for money! Lovely atmosphere. Only slight disappointment was that on previous years, the staff/performers dress up for the Christmas theme (including the grinch) but this year there was no dress up so didn’t feel quite as festive/unique. We sat that the other Archer Street staff did dress up though so seemed to just be Soho. But overall it was very enjoyable!

I had the pleasure of attending yesterday's event, and I must say, the service provided by bar manager David was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I approached the bar, I was greeted with warmth and professionalism.
David dedication to providing exceptional service truly made yesterday's event a memorable one. Thank you!

We’ve visited Gordon’s twice this year. My partner and I really love the wine selection and the food is great, especially the cheeses. My only problem with Gordon’s is not being able to book a table in advance- I’m sure there are reasons and I’m sure it makes perfect sense to them and that it works well for them. My issue is, we’ve been twice, both times for special occasions and we’ve not been able to be seated in the ‘candlelight vaulted wine cellars’, which to be honest, is a massive part of what draws you to go there as it just sounds incredible. Gordon’s is not local to us at all, it’s a long and expensive train journey to get to London, it’s really only something we can do for a special occasion or if we are staying there overnight. There is the added stress of not knowing if you are going to be able to be seated because of course, you can’t reserve a table (we went yesterday for my partners birthday). Yesterday we didn’t have the option of sitting inside at all, we were sat outside. It was nice outside, but it was chilly and wouldn’t have been my first choice. they had heaters but they didn’t put them on until nearly 9pm, just as we were leaving.
Again, I do rate this wine bar very highly and we have enjoyed both of our visits and will definitely come again, it would just be so nice if you could reserve a table so you actually get to sit in the interesting bit!

Very odd vibe, enjoyable but felt like an airport lounge or hotel bar.

Good selection and reasonably priced - averaging about £11 per glass. Shame they didn’t do more food as we left before we wanted to stop to get some dinner.

We’ve been coming regularly since we moved to the area approx 5 years ago (both for special occasions just us/ with family, and when we’ve had a stressful week and just want to chill out) and feel it’s about time we posted a review. Due to move soon but thankfully still within a public transport distance! We love this place. We both love wine but have learnt a ton, both technique, grapes, and about regions since starting coming here - and discovered wines we never thought we’d love. Thoroughly enjoyed our second Summer Wine Fair here and feeling very much more in love with the area we live! Fantastic wine, great people, and a beautiful venue. Keep it up guys, we’ll be back soon with more friends/ family :)

What a little gem of a place! My son lives just around the corner and we’ve have popped in twice for drinks and food in recent weeks. Wonderful welcoming atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable service. I think on both occasions I was served by the owner. He introduced me to some wonderful Swedish craft beers and my son had one of the delicious cocktails with his food. Will be sure to be back. Might try a cocktail and flatbread pizza myself next time. 😋 thank you for making some long journeys down to London bearable. 🙏

Excellent cider bar with a very wide range of ciders, including two of their own, and every other apple-based alcoholic drink. Welcoming and knowledgeable staff, a taster table on arrival, and a few indoor and outdoor tables. Don't miss it.

Excellent service and beautifully-crafted cocktails, enjoyed in the early evening sunshine on the terrace.
The staff were charming and the small plates were the perfect accompaniment to our drinks - made according to our preferences by a patient and helpful barman.
I only wish we lived nearby and could visit more often.

Such wonderful staff there as well happy to chat & give excellent recommendations. They have a wonderful large choice of wines by the glass & the atmosphere is great. This is definitely now one of my favourite London wine bars

My husband and I were having a short break in London, staying near Smithfield. A lot of the places in this area are super-busy, glitzy and expensive. This place was calm, no problem finding somewhere to sit about 7pm and we could hear each other without shouting. The two young men serving were friendly, efficient and welcoming. Free water was on the table, which is a nice touch. We had a mixed cheeses and charcuterie platter which was very nice and included a generous amount of bread. We had four glasses of wine from the small but interesting by-the-glass selection. Total bill was £71 inc 12.5% service which I think is very fair for Central London.

Just off Bishopsgate, opposite Liverpool St Train Station is this great place. Serving only English wines and spirits with a few craft beers might not sound appealing to everyone but with the knowledgable staff you will be pleasantly surprised with what you can discover. Gin and tonic ordering is great and love the fact you can buy bottles of the wines you like. Might become a regular after work haunt.
