Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Colin1959Slaley, UK47 contributionsWe always visit Borough market when in London and we always will. If you cannot find something to buy or eat here you need a good head shake. Enough said.Written 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- clareturner73Gloucester, UK224 contributionsWe come to London once a year. This year (feb 2025 for my bday)
We visited Camden & markets each time. Everything there slightly changes each time. But now I feel bored with it.
The shops are looking tired. Same stuff.
Think it's time for a change. Edinburgh thinks it's time we visit.Written 11 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The spa is a fantastic place to be spoilt. With a great choice of skincare and makeup. Visited the Piazza, popped into Penhaligons to one of my favourite perfumery’s. Bought some Jasmine and English Rose tea from whittards of chelsea so refreshing. So many lovely shops and stalls in the piazza, well worth the visit. Also so many great restaurants to visit, Rules is one of my favourites lots of choices of game as well as great oysters, puddings and Pies. A night at the Royal opera house to watch the ballet and dinner there is a great evening out.Written 10 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Francy Mitchell39 contributionsThe Portobello Market is for you if you like trinkets, endless displays of watches and rings, and little funky knick-knacks. It's a fun but crowded walk up and down the street in a charming neighborhood in London. Knick-knacks are not my thing, but I enjoyed looking at all the bright arrays of colors amongst shiny things. It's worth going at least once, and if you are really into trinkets, you could make a day of it.Written 26 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - rebeccaaliceturnerClydebank, UK70 contributionsBrilliant covered market, so many stalls! Very busy with shoppers however some of the stalls begin to repeat their products after exploring for a little bit. The food is delicious, and prices are a little expensive, similarly with the stall items. However the overall experience was worth it.Written 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- John MLangley, Canada103 contributionsWell worth a stop if you find yourself in ‘The City’. I visited during the late afternoon when the darkness provided a beautiful contrast to the lighting in the Hall. Lots of places to eat and many pubs that were all quite busy, both inside and out, during my late afternoon visit. I had a pint at the Lamb Tavern to soak up the atmosphere.Written 19 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - buntyhen156 contributionsQuirky place in a beautiful church. Food stalls around the edge of the church with seating in the centre. Good selection to choose from including pizza, pasta, noodles, crepes and gelato on the ground floor with other restaurants on first floor. We enjoyed a German Beer and 2 pasta dishes, which were delicious and reasonably priced for central London.

Very colourful even in January. Bought flowers, dried flowers, a vase and very scrumptious bagels to take home for lunch.Written 26 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It has for sure changed since then, but the flair of old and fairly traditional British shops (in the good sense of the term) remains. There are more antique watch stores, and some of the old stores have gone. But to stroll through the arcade is a delight.Written 14 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
