It was great to have the timing and planning taken care of. A big day that made a good use of our time and ensured we saw each location. Our driver, Gregory, kindly ensured we took the most scenic route. - Elle M.Jamaica16 contributionsI loved this tour. It was truly great! It was raining all day so that detracted from our enjoyment, however, that is not the fault of the tour operators.
The tour itself started rocky. Unlike the other tour operators that I stopped and asked for directions along the way, this group is hidden in the back. Just keep walking, pass the Starbucks, get to the very end and you’ve found them. They are not well marked. And the people keep walking away so it’s hard to pin down if you are in the correct location. I would advise that you arrive at least 30 mins before departure. I promise you, yes, the check in process is TERRIBLE! But after that, it’s a good time. (Removed a star for how horrific the check in process is, they should learn from the other tour groups that have tables and signs and smiles throughout the terminal)
Ok. Onto the tour. Our guide was very knowledgable, helpful and friendly. He was originally from Bath so could give details that many others didn’t quite have. Windsor Castle was a great time. Truly beautiful building with so much history. We also caught the changing of the guards.
Stonehenge was stunning. And they have a great coffee shop there.
The food and the inn was fantastic. The town itself is lovely with lots of art and homemade chocolates so be sure to walk around.
Overall, great trip. Our guide James made the day educational and a lot of fun en route to each of the villages and at each stop. Along the route you pass through a dozen or so other villages, which makes the day even more fulfilling than what we signed up for. The transport is comfortable and traversed narrow roads that busses cannot. The scenic views along the Thames were breathtaking, showcasing iconic landmarks like the Tower Bridge and the London Eye. Upon arriving in Greenwich, we explored the historic sites, including the Royal Observatory and the Cutty Sark. The charming atmosphere of the area, with its lovely parks and vibrant market, added to the charm. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, making the history come alive. Overall, it was a perfect day of exploration and relaxation. Always of good cheer, she provided much revealing detail. Especially welcome were her improvisations with driver Leo. I, personally, did not find Leeds Castle terribly interesting, but the Battle of Britain Memorial at Dover was an overwhelming surprise, and of course the White Cliffs live up to their reputation. Canterbury -- and especially the Cathedral itself -- exceeds expectation. Our tour guide Mark was very knowledgeable and entertaining and kept us interested for the whole 5 hours. It was great to do on our first full day in London.
