Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Lenny HAuckland, New Zealand795 contributionsWe walked across it. Glad we did, but to be honest, it’s nothing amazing. Nice to take a photo back towards St Paul’s as we took a photo from St Paul’s of the bridge.Written 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - I visited this place🇫🇷🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧🇳🇱Israel15,039 contributionsPROS
* Nice famous bridge
* Fantastic views and photo opportunities (please see my "helpful" ones)
* This connects the Houses of Parliament (Palace of Westminster) with the gaudy entertainment on the south shore of the Thames
CONS
* Crowded- it can be very crowded (with tourists)
* A location known to be a hub for scammers and even pickpockets
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because I had to visit this iconic bridge.
I crossed from the Westminster tube station across to the south bank of the River Thames, on the eastern side. Yes it was crowded but I didn't see the scammers and pickpockets whom we know are always interested in this place.
I did see the same Scottish bagpipe player in the same exact spot that he was standing during my previous visit in 2016 (see my many "helpful" photos; I also have videos of him).
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free.
ADVICE
* A visit to London requires seeing and crossing this bridge, but be careful and alert and watch your stuff and don't get scammed
* It is a great place for photo opportunities in all directions
* Go down the steps and under the bridge on both sides, especially the south bank.

One of London's quieter bridge so you actually get a decent opportunity to make uninterrupted photo sessions without being disrupted by Chinese or German tourists , and definitely gives you fantastic views of Europe's most interesting and largest city.Written 19 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - I visited this place🇫🇷🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧🇳🇱Israel15,039 contributionsPROS
* Nice scenic bridge
CONS
* Heavy vehicular traffic
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because i came across it as I walked from my Tower of London, Tower Bridge and Sky Garden visits on my way to a performance at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, which is there at the bridge. I stood at the top and looked down; I took at the bottom and looked up. I took photos of people from across the very busy vehicular traffic street

The view from this bridge is lovely.Written 22 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- StephenCrossDublin, Ireland18,526 contributionsAlbert Bridge is one of the nicer bridges on the Thames. It’s also one of the older bridges. Very narrow entry way for cars. Great at night as well.Written 21 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- I visited this place🇫🇷🇬🇷🇨🇭🇬🇧🇳🇱Israel15,039 contributionsPROS
* Interesting bridge; interesting name
* Train bridge is parallel and next to it
* Adjacent and next to the Tate Modern Museum
CONS
* Noisy with a lot of traffic
* Noisy and busy construction on the train bridge
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because I like the name and I like walking on it and I like the train bridge and would like to visit that, except that it requires purchasing a fare. I watched the bridge workers, who have been doing that since at least my previous visit in 2016. I was there because I was on my way to a repeat visit to the Tate Modern Museum
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Sure- it is free
WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN
Sure- if and when I am in the area

* Interesting structure with wire-like spikes
* Prime location providing grand views in both directions
* Pedestrian only
CONS
It can be crowded
"I VISITED THIS PLACE"...
... because it was there when I was walking from Houses of Parliament and Westminster Bridge towards the Tate Modern Museum. I came across it, so I went up and walked on it, but continued my journey on the side side of the River Thames.

Can get busy and another great south/north of the river connectionWritten 31 October 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SmartDamoCostessey, UK4,592 contributionsUsed the bridge multiple times during the coronation weekend staying in the Novotel hotel. It’s not as grand as the Westminster bridge but the view down the Thames and of the Parliament and Lambeth Palace are a treat. It’s also less busy than it’s neighbouring bridge.Written 10 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- StephenCrossDublin, Ireland18,526 contributionsChelsea Bridge is located near to Battersea Power Station. It’s a nice old bridge but certainly not as interesting as Albert Bridge up the road.Written 22 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Joasi23South Yorkshire, UK1,415 contributionsThe area is impressive to visit, to see how the canal now sits alongside the modern structures and adds to the ongoing changes in london and it’s suburbs. While there we enjoyed seeking out both the bridges ( the fan bridge is a minute away ) after watching them in action on you tube.Written 18 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - StephenCrossDublin, Ireland18,526 contributionsNot the best for sure but a nice old bridge crossing the Thames. Prefer Tower Bridge but this is a nice historic one.Written 24 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - therichastillStevenage, UK2,719 contributionsThe Barbican Centre is located in the city of London and is really close to Barbican Tube Station which is on the Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City Lines. It is also a short walk from Farringdon station which has connections to Thameslink and the Elizabeth Line.
Surrounding the venue there is alot of housing and also some walkways to get to these. They are above the traffic which is a really good way of separating the pedestrians from the vehicles and preventing accidents.
The Highwalks criss cross allowing you to get to different destinations safely and there is an open feeling and it is not claustrophobic to use them. I only found one ramp along with some lifts for those who struggle with stairs.
Good planning architects!Written 9 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
