Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Sure your club might be more successful, with more expensive players, and significantly more trophies. Your stands might have nicer creature comforts, video boards, spacious seating, extended legroom etc. But In the process of getting there did you sell out your ancestral home? Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool - looking at you.*

Craven cottage built in 1896 for a team established in 1879 is the oldest football stadium for the first football club established in London.** Quite simply, London’s Original Football Club. This is the Chicago Bears of American football, the Boston Red Sox of baseball, the Philadelphia Warriors of the NBA. The cottage reflects the neighborhood around it - not like Chelsea down the road, wedging its rehabbed state of the art home into an older facade between a few rows of townhomes. Craven Cottage is 100% original and truly a centerpiece of the neighborhood. You leave your house, go to the store, the tea shop, out to the pub, and the Fulham Football Club is right there, where you need them to be.

Touring the cottage you get a sense of its place in the community from the staff. Our guide knew every worker we passed by - grounds crew, ticket office, guy moving the kegs, etc.

Having been constructed when tall men were five foot six you enter for a game through a doorway which is, if I am generous, possibly 18 inches wide. Keeping with the theme, the cottage features ridiculously small locker rooms, the pitch has a steep hill beyond the touch line - you are running up hill to take a corner - and if there was an unfortunate lightning strike it would do serious damage to the wooden seats in the Johnny Haynes stand. And did I mention there is a house in the southeast corner, you literally run out of the HOUSE through the tunnel to take the field (I believe it is officially referred to as the ‘cottage pavilion’ while the entirety of the ground is known as Craven Cottage.

Fulham is not going to be in the mix every year. Most years in fact. For an American fan selecting a team there are easier paths. I’m told Liverpool is popular, for example. Tottenham is a nice “at least I didn’t choose Arsenal or Chelsea” option. But then again it’s not about the destination It’s about the journey. One day everything is going to come together gloriously for a League Cup, or even an FA Cup or given enough time, possibly a Champions League bid. And I will be present every year until then, watching on TV and occasionally in person as Fulham finish 10th, or 12th or, 16th, barely avoiding relegation - however long it takes while my Liverpool and Man City and Arsenal friends steal the glory.
Craven Cottage and Fulham Football Club are not for everyone. But I would rather ride in a classic model T or an MGA than some kind of ridiculous supercar and you know in your heart so would you.

*The new Riverside stand is of course the polar opposite of the Johnny Haynes Stand, or the Hammersmith and Putney ends. And I’m sure those fans will have a good time.

**might be off on a couple of dates but the point is it’s old.

Second day of match against West Indies at this famous ground.
Arrived around 10am got in easily enough good facilities inside and plenty going on before the game.
Nice seat in the Compton stand padded and comfy but legroom a little cramped.
Great days cricket very enjoyable food and drink a little expensive but as I expected.
Staff were good and helpful on the whole.
Not easy to get Taxis outside afterwards could do with a Taxi rank there.
Overall a brilliant day and would love to do it all over again against Australia.

I had tickets for the men’s semi finals on Centre Court, which was amazing but the whole complex is impressive. As you walk in the outer courts are ahead of you and everything is done to perfection. Plenty of toilets and food and drink outlets. It is expensive, but it’s the home of one of the most prestigious tennis competitions in the world and there is money about.
Worth a visit even when the competition isn’t on.
    Very impressive.

Wow! What a brilliant trip to the velodrome. Having been bought a flying lap for taster day for Christmas. I was excited and had a brilliant time trying. Staff were attentive and chatty, helping us make the most of our experience. Flying lap is a must if with family and friends to put yourselves against each other and see who’s fastest. Highly recommend

(After a beer at the local "Queens Tavern" where the local fans were friendly and welcoming we headed towards the stadium)
Shopping in the shop was quick and easy, and the friendly stewards made the experience of entering the stadium just as easy and quick.
The fans from both teams created a sublime atmosphere, unfortunately QPR lost, but we left with a good experience

Pool is great .... was busy when I was there - but can't complain about that .... it's London !

But ....... not everyone is a regular ........ and knows what to do - where to go ....

I drove into the car park .... thought I should have a ticket - but didn't .... couldn't see any signs.

I said to lady at reception that I hadn't been there before - but I didn't get any instructions on where to go ...
I said I didn't have a parking ticket - she gave me phone number of car park.
She wrote down the number wrong - but i have enough life experience to get person to read out the number and double check it - so that disaster was averted !

I swam - it was great.

Post swim ... came out ... walked all the way around to the car.
I thought attendant might have to come and help - and I didn't want them hanging around while I walked from Aquatic Centre to parking.

Got to car .... rang car park number.

He said 'don't need ticket' auto registration number photo .... just go to machine and pay.

I walked back to the machine.... it said £45 !!!!! I had only been in there an hour ....

Rang car park again .... he said go to machine inside the centre and it will calculate for the time you have been inside ....

I walked back around to the Aquatic Centre ......

I was laughing by now ..... but really ..... some signage for newbies would be great !
Or a trained / empathic reception person who could have helped ..... and saved me half an hour !!!

All of the staff we encountered were so friendly, clear and accommodating. We really picked up on their professionalism and high levels of communication between them. Sometimes at these types of places they can be a bit ‘laddy’ and arrogant but we felt they wanted to be there and for people to enjoy themselves and feel at ease. Jordan was our instructor so, shout out to him in particular!

It would be 5 stars but we did feel the whole thing was a bit expensive for what you actually got, which seems to be the consensus after seeing some of the other reviews.

Tip: Take someone with you to take photos. Because it was just us- we were unable to do this so felt compelled to buy footage, which wasn’t great.

The Castle is an iconic north London climbing centre, with rope climbing (top rope, lead and auto belay) and bouldering available. As with any other gym in London, you'll need to sign a waiver and answer a few safety questions if it's your first visit. If you're hiring shoes, or a harness, you can hire them from the small cafe opposite the entrance to the main building.

At peak times, the centre can get very busy, so try and pop in at a quieter moment to enjoy, if you can (late morning/early afternoon on week days). Remember also to take a pound coin for the lockers.

The variety of routes here is good and they change fairly frequently, so there's always a new challenge (you can find the setting rota behind reception). There is also a new outdoor bouldering area, which is lovely to relax in on sunny days. My only gripe is that a larger warm-up area would be helpful.

Check out the garden - fresh veg is grown here to make food in the cafe! Coffee here is great, if you're in need of a break, and there are plenty of vegan food options.

I find it odd that past reviews mention issues with staff? Everyone I meet at The Castle has been friendly and helpful.

I’ve been summoning up the courage to swim here for a while. An unheated open air pool in Britain is always going to feel slightly chilly when you first get in, no matter how hot the weather gets.
I finally decided to go for the first time last week. Hampstead Heath tweets the pool temperatures and it was 22°. The Olympic pool in Stratford is heated to 26° and most local leisure centre lap pools will be 27° or 28° in comparison.
I love lap swimming so went at 7:00am. And wow, what an experience. There were loads of other swimmers. The pool is divided into five extra wide lanes - one slow, two medium, two fast. Plenty of room to overtake down the middle if necessary. In a 60 metre pool, it’s hard to space out in the normal way, but despite sharing a lane with about 14 other people, I didn’t get held up like I sometimes do in my normal pool. It’s chilly when you first get in, but then after your first length it’s just perfect! Refreshing and feels “healthy”! It also seems very clean and the steel floor reflects the sunlight beautifully. I swam 2040 metres and then had a shower. The changing rooms are definitely rather rustic. Showers are a bit temperamental and there are no doors on the changing cubicles. Also quite dirty. But… I wasn’t expecting anything else to be honest. A fancy modern changing room would have kind of spoiled the atmosphere.
I’ve been back twice more since my first visit last week. The hot weather and sunshine helps. Highly recommend that early morning swim to start the day. Parking is free on nearby streets until 10:00 too. Oh and the café serves decent food if you get peckish!

I visited the Vauxwall East center alot earlier this year and was a member before I moved out of London. But while I was there I had a really bad injury which resulted in an ambulance coming as I couldnt move off the mat. The staff stayed by me the whole time, they were extremely compassionate and caring to the point that even the ambulance crew were saying that they've never seen a climbing gym so caring with an injured climber. This experience, despite an awful injury, really made me appreciate the staff working there and 100% is the safest I've felt at a gym. The routes are great aswell and an amazing variety but that is nothing compared to the compassion and experience of the staff if something does, unfortunately, goes wrong

kids love it as the adults, only things wrong are
they should stop the idiots that think because they can "stake" gives them the right to wizz round the ice showing off
the little gangs that seems to gather in the centre of the ice "showing off their skills " at one stage a girl who was from the class before was shouting at the children to move out of her way because she was a professional and needed to practice

you really do need a bit more control on the ice of these idiots , my little one was almost sent flying by someone skating backwards

apart from these morans its a great afternoon out - but do check the times
