Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Alison TUnited Kingdom324 contributionsMyself & my partner visited the exhibition via the tube. It was very confusing which stop to get off at.
We thought we got off at the correct one & spoke to staff on site & they advised we should have got off the stop before.so we would have to walk right through the car park to get there. It is not very well signposted , us & some others were all looking for the entrance & when we got to what we thought was the entrance we was told we needed to go back through the car park but given more directions. So we finally found the entrance.
They check. Our bag on arrival. You are unable to take drinks/ food or umbrella’s in, my umbrella was inside my small rucksack & the lady said this was ok but not to remove it from my bag. No idea why I would when it was all inside.
You enter & get given headphones for the exhibition & there is testing points to make sure they work & you can use the,
The exhibition itself was a little confusing as they were number & had dates. However when you moved to the next one, it had information for the dates you had just read.
However that said it was very Informative & interesting to F1 fans. Which we both are.
We both enjoyed it & my partner paid to do the simulation at the end & loved that bit.
Has a Jenson Button fan , I was disappointed that there was no mention of him at all!
The gift shop is well overpriced. My partner looked at a top that was ÂŁ70. But you can buy it on line for ÂŁ40.
You could have your photo’s taken at 2 points but it didn’t say how much they were, we didn’t bother,
Overall we really enjoyed the experience & spent about 2.5 hrs there.Written 5 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Unless there is something in particular you want, it is not for you. We found seating in the food area very poor. After spending several hours looking at stalls you want to sit down, have something to eat or drink. There was nice variety of food stalls but I didn’t buy anything because there was no where to sit, we saw several people reduced to sitting on the floor to eat their food. My husband brought some food and had to stand up to eat until someone vacated their table and we managed to get it. Even while eating several people came up to us to ask when would we be leaving. Not exactly relaxing. This could have been a nice day out, have something to eat, drink spend some money but we left early.Written 26 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HINA WIslamabad, Pakistan7,348 contributionsYou can find this lovely building in South Kensington, an area which was nicknamed Albertopolis after the beloved husband of Queen Victoria. It is situated near the Albert Hall and faces the Kensington Park. It was treat to visit this unique society’s headquarters. So many expeditions were planned, funded and given royal patronage here. This is the place which led to so many discoveries. The exhibits, stories and ambience here are truly amazing and inspiring. The tales of those adventurous people who led their teams into the arctic, jungles, seas, volcanoes, deserts and mountains would definitely enthral you too. Researchers like David Livingstone, Ernest Shackleton, Humphrey Gilbert, Sir Francis Drake and Captain Cook were all funded by this society’s help. You can also see a private wedding or two taking place here.Written 8 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VanessaDorking, UK112 contributionsGreat venue. My friend and I went for The Beauty Show and it was a great venue. Spacious with nice high ceilings and natural light. Accessible toilets. Would love to attend an event there again!Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Geoff2 contributionsA good place to take a book and wander around, especially in off-peak times. The library is strong and had some wonderful poetry and the coffee at the cafe isn't half bad. No bad seats in the stalls of the main theatre.Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Steve OLuton, UK224 contributionsHad my first visit to this conference venue, its location is great and you are surrounded by history, history and more history... but also tourists so if you look like you might know anything about London be prepared to act as a guide 🤔
Generally I couldn't fault the location, facilities and especially the people, but just one thing to consider when going there... plan toilet visits because when 750 delegates have a break the toilets are gender neutral and some of us take longer!Written 14 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Each room had a unique work of art where the light and space was very different from the other spaces.Written 11 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - futtock21London, UK17,297 contributionsIt’s the perfect antidote to the sheer overwhelming vastness of nearby Frieze, a small compact fair of no more than about twenty galleries in a uniquely gungy but atmospheric space in the bowels of the University of Westminster building in the Marylebone Road. Each year a single institution is invited to exhibit prints in the balcony space. This year the Glasgow Print Collective. There’s coffee, beer, salads and cakes at a space to the rear of the main exhibition space. And unlike Frieze which has a staggeringly large admission price of around £40 including online charges this exhibition is free.Written 17 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Megan P2 contributionsMy review echoes much of the same issues as other reviews on here, and the core route of the problem seems to be the staff unfortunately.
Despite booking way in advance and trying to communicate with the venue to organise finer details ahead of time, they had next to no communication with me until the week before the event which then felt like a mad rush. Similarly, there was zero flexibility, and the 'decor' we paid for was next to nothing.
The 'in-house' AV company is not in-house at all and pretty much went out of their way to make life difficult for us.
The 'in-house' DJ couldn't transition and was very stop-start.
The staff and security were insulting people, calling them names, laughing at them and making guests feel uncomfortable, they accused people of lying and took zero accountability for any mistakes, made no effort to help, bare minimum effort and mostly just stood around talking ignoring guests.
Food was average, small portions and the dessert made people physically sick!
They asked me for feedback, which I gave and was told was escalated to management. It's now a month later and they've started sending me sales emails again, and haven't replied to my feedback.Written 17 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It’s a really fantastic building, appeared really well organised - no lines to get in, easy to get drinks/food
My negative points were that it was hard to see the stage and I can’t believe I’m saying this but I didn’t think the music was loud enough
I really liked the timing of the event I went to - got there are 4pm - place was already busy and left around 10pm - which made it easy to get out of the placeWritten 29 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. So Sunday was my first ever event, and can I say I had a lovely time. All the guests were super happy, excited and welcoming to their fans.
But this is where the negative comes in. Yes some staff were happy, smiling and accommodating but I found the ones with the guests, power driven and rude. The way they spoke to people, snapping at them to hurry up or not take pictures was not what I was expecting.
I had a photo with Ian and Paul, me and my daughter were rushed through and for £170 I think 1 minute just is ridiculous. The girl in-front asked for a hug and was screamed at “no hugs”. She looked so embarrassed and mortified. You’re treated like some moron groupie and when standing waiting to cheer them both on at the panel, fences were put up with staff saying “pen them in” yes there was some bizarre screaming behaviour but we are just fans not diseased idiots.
I really thought it would be a light hearted fans convention where I would feel comfortable to approach guests if they were happy for me to and to take pictures from a far.
Now this may sound like I had an awful time, I really didn’t… thank goodness for the amazing guests I’m sure they went to appreciate their fans but not letting them talk to their fans and struggled to be able to. I’m surprised we wasn’t charged £5 per hour to breath their air if I’m honest.
To the guests and the few lovely staff that treated everyone fairly and beautifully thank you. To the people at the top of the chain, stop burning your guests out and over charging your customers or allow them what they pay for….many thanksWritten 22 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. 100 delegates in this spacious venue, with ample staff to ensure it worked well.
The food at lunch time was great a choice of Moussaka with a vegetarian Moussaka too. Salads then a hot and cold pudding.
For one wheelchair person they had one to one care which was so helpful and smooth.
Ali was the staff person in charge and his timing was amazingWritten 25 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is used for conventions and trade shows and years ago I saw Oasis play there with The Verve supporting them.
It is fairly easy to get to on public transport. The station is served by London Overground with trains running from Clapham Junction to Stratford and there are plenty of connections on this route. Southern Railway also run an hourly service from Watford Junction to Croydon.
The Overground service stops at West Brompton which has connections to the District Line. Alternatively it is about a 10-15 minute walk from West Kensington to Olympia depending on how fast you walk.
There are some buses serving the area as well.
Depending on what's happening at the venue there are places to get food and also toilets.
I visited in January 2024 and there was alot of building work going on in the area so watch your step and keep to the right walkways.Written 3 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I managed to score tickets last weekend to an exclusive launch party put on by Adidas and Sneakersnstuff. The venue is amazing, exposed brick walls, great sound system and friendly staff. Got talking to one of the bar staff and they mentioned that the venue also hosts birthday parties and weddings!Written 27 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
