Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Piccadilly Circus is a road junction and public space at London with busy traffic movement. It is close to several shopping and entertainment areas. The Circus is particularly known for its video display and neon signs mounted on the building. Major traffic junction as well as several shopping and entertainment options has made Piccadilly Circus a busy meeting place and a tourist hotspot. When we visited, the place was bustling with tourists. It was an enjoyable visit

Regent St is one of London’s most important shopping hubs with its wide, open pavements, glorious old buildings, fluttering flags, and every shop from H&M to Burberry, it’s a shopper’s paradise on any given day.

A stroll down the fashionable thoroughfare will reveal familiar names in luxury fashion, such as Coach, Armani, Michael Kors, and Karl Lagerfeld. If you are shopping for children you won’t want to miss Hamleys, the oldest toyshop in the world, which is located right at the center of the street. Liberty London is another historic department store that is not to be missed.

    The East India Company
Founded in 1600, The East India Company played a major role in expanding the British Empire and is credited for introducing tea to England.

The dramatic curve of the street towards Piccadilly Circus – originally known as the Quadrant – preserved the essence of it.

A fitting tribute to those that lost their lives in the Second World War. I found the memorial very interesting and moving. There’s a lot of background information about the memorial itself online which I suggest reading beforehand to really help understand the complexities of Bomber Command and the seven aircrew depicted in the memorial.

Amazing show - costumes, set design, production and cast absolutely incredible. Our day was made extra special by Harry, who made it a breeze to access the stalls for our elderly grandparents and went to great lengths to make sure we were well looked after! Made grandads 90th birthday so special - would highly recommend x

Fab show! Cast were brilliant and so well told.

The theatre staff were amazing. We struggled for 20 mins trying to get across the theatre due to the Pride parade and thought we were going to miss the start. Soon as we got there the staff calmed us and said the show had been delayed for 5 mins so there was still time to use the facilities and find our seats without any stress.

The interior of this house has to be one of the best we have ever seen. It has some stunningly beautiful rooms and the whole visit is brought to life by very knowledgeable guides. We will definitely come back here at some point in the future.

It's worth having a look at this over looked Royal Palace if you're heading up The Mall to Buckingham Palace. You will find it half way up The Mall on the right hand side. It's quite interesting and less busy than Buckingham Palace. A good place to see the Military in full uniform.

I popped in with a view to see a particular tapestry that is presently on display.
The church is pretty and bathed in light. It is wonderful for a few moments of tranquility and quiet contemplation regardless of faith.

    PROS
    * Impressive dignified and regal curved structure with multiple arches
    * It defines the path from Trafalgar Square and onto the Mall and up to Buckingham Palace
    * There is some history to it- built as a memorial to Queen Victoria and then used as the offices of His Majesty's Royal navy and now what? A hotel?

    CONS
    * It's just an arch on a street, albeit a fancy one

    I VISITED THIS PLACE...
... during my expedition to see and document absolutely everything that I could in Westminster. I had seen and walked under this before, and so I did that again. There was construction and pedestrian detours.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
    It is free

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure, since I intend to visit Buckingham Palace, walk the length of the Mall and go to the National Gallery on Trafalgar Square again on my next visit.

    ADVICE
    * Yes- go to see it- walk or drive underneath it and then move on

The Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain, officially and popularly known as Eros,is a fountain surmounted by a winged statue of Anteros, located at the southeastern side of Piccadilly Circus in London, England. Moved after the Second World War from its original position in the centre of the circus, it was erected in 1892–93 to commemorate the philanthropic works of Anthony Ashley Cooper, 7th Earl of Shaftesbury,[ the Victorian politician and philanthropist, and his achievement in replacing child labour with school education. The fountain overlooks the south-west end of Shaftesbury Avenue, also named after the Earl.

We visited the annual exhibition of the Pastel Society: ‘BENCHMARK’ at Mall Galleries, just beside what was Admiralty Arch. There was no queue to get in and admission was very reasonable. The exhibition was excellent, well lit and spacious.
The exhibition showed a rich range of styles and subject matter in pastel, chalk, crayon, pencil, charcoal, and mixtures of these materials. It was comfortably quiet, unlike most art galleries on Sundays these days, and practically deserted compared to the world outside. It was possible to stand back or venture close to the exhibits without the intrusion of selfie takers more interested in admiring themselves than the pictures. The pictures on display were of high quality and I found many of them interesting in their subject matter and technique. The gallery had a lovely coffee shop which was not at all crowded. A great find. Unfortunately only open for a few more days.

My wife purchased a ticket (as a birthay treat)for one of their monthly guided tours. It was far more interesting than I expected.
The tour guide (I think it was Ananda) was amazing and her enthusiasm for her work place and work was incredible. I cannot afford the fees as a pensioner but it is obviously a wonderful resource, and thankfully many writers/autors were members. As well as quite a few historical figures.

    Would wholeheartedly recommend.

We went in Sept. 2019 for the Queen's Ball, the reception was held at the Lancaster House. What a beautiful place to have such an event. With the beautiful pieces of art, the tables decorated with flowers such a nice evening. The service was great.
