Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a fantastic experience! Our tour guide was knowledgeable and amusing. The historical context was pitched at an informative level and the guide brought in tour members so that we all felt involved. The pace of the tour was about right; we moved on at a good, but not rushed pace and saw some lovely sights. Thank you

We had a very small tour group of 7 which was perfect. Our tour guide was terrific and his awe of the history of Oxford was infectious. I would recommend a guided tour to anyone visiting Oxford.

Insightful and fun, enjoyed our tour. Great way to see the university with a mix of Harry Potter and other literary touch points throughout.

Felicity was a great guide. She was very knowledgeable and we learned so much about Oxford. We went to Oxford for a little inspector Morse tour but did the city tour. She tossed in a few Morse tidbits so we liked that.

We SO enjoyed our time with Will today. His dry British humor and fun facts about the university had our 12-year-old riveted. Potterheads definitely get some fun photos and quizzes by houses was a cute addition to the tour.

He took particular care and made the 90-minute tour fly by. (We heard a very dry tour as we were passing another group and were glad we chose a family friendly one.) He’s really a treasure and wishing him the best on his final exams!

A great insight into the side of Oxford that hardly anyone knows. The unfairness of students admission and allocation of resources. We spend a good 15 minutes alone looking at and talking about the statue of Rhodes.
The style is to ask questions and get the group to think ...LOVED IT! Highly Recommended.

Being not too technology savvy pensioners it took us a few minutes to understand how the app worked but once we had it was great. The route was clearly marked out on a map and the mobile phone location satnav showed exactly where you were and where you needed to be heading. The places of interest commentary stops were very informative. Recommended.

Jonathan was such a great guide. Funny, informative and so knowledgeable. What he showed us was incredible with so much history to see. We only went to Oxford to do this tour as people who we met in our travels had mentioned it, so we went the next day and so pleased we did.

We really enjoyed this tour! Tim was friendly, relaxed, communicative and very knowledgeable about Lewis and Tolkien. He told us stories about them and walked us around Oxford to see places where the two academics had lived, studied, worked and socialised. I appreciated that Tim discussed with us at the start where we would go and told us his objectives for the tour. Five stars are well deserved and I would strongly recommend this walking tour.

    Dear Ben,

Thank you for the wonderful tour you gave us yesterday. I learned a lot about the history and culture of the city. You were very knowledgeable and engaging.

However, I have some suggestions on how you could improve your tour for future guests. First, I think it would be nice if you could show more photos of the places and people you mentioned, such as the clothing they wore in the 1700s, the grave in the church, or the bishops. It would help us visualize the stories better and connect with them more. Second, I think you could make your tour more interesting by telling the stories in a more narrative way, rather than just stating facts. You could use more details, emotions, and suspense to make us feel like we are part of the history.

Other than that, I really enjoyed your tour, especially the dark and narrow streets and alleys. They gave me a sense of the atmosphere and mystery of the city.

Thank you again for your time and effort. I hope you find my feedback helpful and constructive.
