Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Jeff COxford, UK114 contributionsA far more pleasant place to visit than Oxford's corporate multiscreen. Eclectic film selection. Cosy atmosphere. Friendly staff and community run. Nice bar with dozens of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding area. Watch out for special showings of films introduced by guest speakers.Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - anne_and_oliverAbingdon, UK36 contributionsWe visited the Curzon for the first time recently and I have to say I was impressed. Very clean, helpful staff and comfy seating. You can opt for a sofa type seat if you wish to snuggle up, or the normal single seats which are still very comfy and roomy. I liked the fact that you get a small flat surface to put your drink on rather than the usual cup holder built into the seat, and coffee comes in a proper cup and saucer rather than a disposable cup. All in all a great experience. Yes the tickets are a little pricey compared to other cinemas but it was worth it for the great experience.Written 9 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - VancouverFamily2013Vancouver, Canada120 contributionsNice theatre experience. Good pricing. Go on Monday’s for special pricing. Great customer service, friendly staff. We need to all get out and support local independent businesses.
Got a 4:instead of 5 only because I am a popcorn nerd. It was not warm and no butter. - Lisa DMidhurst, UK66 contributionsThere is nothing good to say about this place! Its filthy, smells and is outdated. Go to the newer Vue just by the kassam stadium, or to somewhere like witney or reading. One expensive visit to the past!Written 10 April 2013This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MartinMarcham, UK2 contributionsI received £100 parking fine, as I didn’t realise I had to type my car reg into a tablet in the foyer.
It’s an out-of-town car park. What’s so exciting about it? It seems this process is just there to make money out of people like me, who are in a hurry.
Ok, so Vue don’t own the car park. But when scanning my ticket at the cinema, there was no helpful ‘Make sure you enter your car reg into that tablet over there’ prompt from the staff. Vue obviously don’t care about their customers, and I see they can’t be bothered to signpost a complaints process on their website either.
By the way, if you do get a parking ticket just spin a yarn about the trials of life and they’ll reduce the fine to £20.Written 12 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
