Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- TheBurtfamilyNorth Leigh, UK442 contributionsVisited the autumn fair yesterday. There were only about 10 stalls, plus food and drink outlets. We expected more for an event advertised as autumn fair where tickets were pre booked plus a car park charge of ÂŁ10 for the day. The map supplied was poorly designed and unclear. Signage on site was poor. Trees were looking good particularly the acers.Written 20 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Carol and Ray LLancaster, PA269 contributionsWe had a lovely day for a walk around this pretty Reserve. There were flowers and lots and lots of beautiful ferns. I enjoyed the special wild Foxgloves. It was especially interesting for us, knowing that CS Lewis had possibly gotten some of his inspiration for the Narnia books. This was a lovely & easy walk and we would recommend it.Written 28 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - snjoxLondon148 contributionsEnjoyed the walk around the reservoirs on a good, level, surfaced track, as we've done many times before, but mean-spirited Thames Water, despite ÂŁ2.2 BILLION annual revenues, have re-introduced parking charges here, presumably to reduce footfall and help kill off the cafe? Seriously, what costs do TW need to recoup from a few members of the public parking and walking? What else can they do to ensure a total lack of public-spiritedness and discourage local people from using their facility for healthy exercise. First 45 mins is free, but of course that isn't quite long enough to walk a full lap (wonder who worked that one out?!).
Many other walks in the area, so no longer visiting and no longer using the cafe. Shame.Written 30 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is 3 main fields, 2 accomodation blocks, a few sets of toilets scattered around. There is loads of buildings including a Tuck shop and a small sports hall. There is a small gravel car park. It's a nice place, but as it says in the name there is a large hill leading up to the accomodation blocks. The toilets are clean and well kept. On the last night we had a massive disco, with all 1400 people that showed up to the camping trip and I was shoved to the front of the disco with 2 of my friends and we had to lead the macarina and the cha cha slide. I was wearing the Hertfordshire flag and I was on one of my friends shoulders at the front of the conga line and during the song, follow the leader. It was truly a night to remember.Written 22 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
