Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had Willow as our guide. She was absolutely brilliant. Very knowledgeable, and approachable. Would highly recommend her as a guide.

We were unsure of whether to go because we didn’t have much time, and in the end, we went back the next day to finish off because we enjoyed it so much. Really well laid out and curated with the right amount of detail and interest on a wide range of cultures and arts. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

.. the city of dreamy spires, and this city sure has enough beautiful sights = college buildings to satisfy anyone with an iota of interest in architecture. Luckily, the clouds parted to reveal a blue sky which then gave amazing pics with the sunshine reflecting off its many buildings.

Very atmospheric College open to the paying public at certain times of the year. Extensive site and grounds with a number of people during my visit keen to ask the guides which window in the Great Hall had Harry Potter connections

The Oxford University Museum is hosted in a stunning gothic building and features amazing dinosaur skeletons, minerals and other exhibits. A museum worth visiting.

The Pitt-Rivers is in a class of it’s won. Marie Kondo would have a hard time in this place- which is why everyone should visit it.. Museums present collections according to the beliefs of a society. That there was a time to collect and frankly take what one can- should be presented as cleanly and self-consciously as possible, without apologies.
Context matters and the Pitt-Rivera does that. It’s worth a trip to Oxford for that. Anyway- who is Harry Potter?

For £20 you get to walk the quad and see some of the grounds, but it is quite limited. Having visited Cambridge just before, this felt a bit of a rip off. Maybe £5? The shared ticket with the botanical gardens is a plus as that is excellent. The chapel is the highlight.

The last time I was there was 2017 and since then they have expanded plant variety-wise, have put more information signs about certain plants and placed a few lovely sculptures including Cheshire Cat.
Definitely visit only in warmer seasons as they charge the same price regardless of the month and there is a lot more to see between May-September times.

Obviously you need to see this bridge if visiting the city. Lots of interesting buildings to visit in the same area too like the Church Radcliffe Camera

Amazing experience and view! Wee did not trip over luckily or injure our knee. You also need to be a slim Jim, the stairs are quite narrow, make sure you don’t fall off! Highly recommended it. 😁😊😁

The porter Nigel here (I travelled solo on a weekend) was particularly welcoming. Very jovial host. The family in front of me were a bit difficult but I noticed he was very warm toward them whilst upholding the professionalism of the college. As an academic this is also important to me. I'm aware this is a popular filming location for film crews. And noticed there are many photos of celebrities at the door. Except it seems to me they should be proud to be photographed with Nigel...rather than he with them. This was an excellent day out at New College...and apart from the potter sights I can recommend the gardens for tranquility!

I attended a private dinner celebration at the Balliol College that was built in 1263. Fascinating architecture. The dining experience sitting on wooden benches was reliving history. Very unique experience.

Useful walking and cycling trail between different parts of the city. A circular walk is good, going out to Wolvercote and then back along the Thames path.
