- Grover RPensacola, FL22,712 contributionsFrom our time walking in Bath and driving the Bath/Bristol area, it was clear that international football, soccer, does not dominate every corner of England. Every field we saw here had a H shaped goalpost indicating this was Rugby country. The culmination of that emphasis was on the banks of Avon at the Parade Grounds looking across to see this stadium. There is no more prestigious location than here within sight of Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge on the banks of the Avon River. It appears Rugby was in the middle of its season; however, there was no game being played. - Sam G1 contributionOne of the most unfriendly and rude organizations that I have ever come across. Parked at their overpriced car park, thinking that the bar will be open for a hot drink. Needed the loo. A very rude staff member came out and said that the toilets are not for public use. We informed that we were driving for a while and parked at their car park and were going to have a drink. Yet, she carried on rambling. You claim to be welcoming and friendly not at all.
Be a little courteous to people especially visitors. Will never visit again and recommend avoiding this place at all costs. a) likes cricket and wants to watch a game at a high standard with a drink and a decent bite to eat, or
b) has never seen a game of cricket and wants to see what it’s about without needing to go out of their way.
Bath cricket club is friendly, has a comfortable cafe that serves decent food and is one of the loveliest grounds in the area. There’ll be a game on from about midday on most Saturdays in summer. Prices are fair and reasonable.

(And it's a big but.)
The standard of cleanliness is unacceptably poor.
Common areas, showers, changing cubicles, floors, walls - ingrained dirt,grease and grime.
Unpleasant, musty smells.
Overflowing waste bins, nappy disposal, etc.
