Wow, what a National Trust beauty. This has to be one of my favourites. The castle/ house inside has such history & beauty & the gardens are stunning, well kept with such a variety of trees & plants/flowers. The volunteers have the upmost respect for this place with vast amounts of knowledge to share with great enthusiasm which made our visit the more special. Thank you to all the staff.

We saw the mill as part of our visit to the castle. It was great that it was working and there are some very interesting machines in the room above the mill. I got sidetracked and forgot to buy the flour which annoyed me as I had been told it makes really good pastry.

Really beautiful village, lovely cafes and lots to explore. Lovely historical area and it’s all very well kept. We had two small children with us and they also really enjoyed it!

If in the area park up and have a walk. Dunster is a very pretty place. Worth a visit. Plenty of car parking.

We love it here but I have to say that the cafe on the chalet site has gone downhill. Not very good at all but still, the beach is still very good.

A beautiful church with the longest rood screen in the country so well worth visiting. A lovely church churchyard with Passion Flowers in bloom and fruiting - so lovely to see them.
Dunster itself is quite a touristy small town but retains its charm. There is an imposing castle overlooking the main street and a Yarn Market still in place. The Deli (on the main street) is well worth a visit for goodies to take home.

The museum is on the High street and entry is free. The ground floor tells the history of Dunster which has had a chequered and interesting past. Upstairs is an amazing collection of dolls (and houses and prams) given -or made- by local people. There is also a small shop selling dolls and other things.

Lovely little bridge which must be ancient, with an intimidating ford adjacent. It is located near to the castle watermill. Lots of pretty houses nearby

We did the history of Dunster walk which is free from the visitor centre (donations welcome). It was absolutely terrific with an expert guide, very informative and so much to see. Highly recommended. Every Wednesday in the season about two hours.

A bit of a surprise, this attractive children's playground, which has safe, well maintain traditional slides / rrides and grounds. Great for the under nines, and close to the Gallox bridge. Limited parking just a few yards away.

Took the steeper route from the village centre. Absolutely worth the climb, beautiful views from the top and at points on the ascent also.
Only took about 15 minutes to walk up and there are occasional resting points with seating if needed.
The folly itself has been well maintained and is quite beautiful.
Would definitely recommend making the effort to visit this attraction
