Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely brilliant afternoon being shown around the Brewery by Kathy. The tour is really well planned and detailed. Lots of steps to climb but well worth the view of Bury St Edmunds when you get to the top. Kathy is very knowledgeable and so friendly. The beer tasting as part of the tour is great too. Lots of different ones to try and a free bottle to take home. Very much worth the money.

I stopped here as a tourist attraction and as expected the gardens are not at their best in the winter and was too cold to sit and reflect. I read about the monks in the cloisters and felt very sad for those individuals that made bows of chastity, poverty and obedience and were repeatedly punished and force to go to mass 8 times a day.

This was our first visit to Ickworth, but won’t be the last. Architecturally it is a marvel, designed as a venue to display works of art and other treasures, and with a great display of Old Madters. The guided tour was also excellent, showing knowledge of the house and the Hervey family, whose seat it was.

We regularly have date nights here and sometimes call in for coffee and cake in the day. The bar area is spacious. Thestaff are lovely. We like to book a settee, buy a drink and snacks, and snuggle up together for a home-style film experience with great surround sound. Clientele here tend to be quiet and respectful of space. I'd like more arty films brutally in all we sport this place whenever we can.

St Edmundsbury Cathedral stands as a testament to the intersection of spirituality, history, and architectural grandeur. From the moment I approached this magnificent structure, I felt a profound sense of reverence and awe.

What a gorgeous venue! From the welcome, to the choice of locally sourced drinks and the bar area….& then the auditorium is just amazing…. Like being in your own theatre or a dolls house… loved every second.

Even by the standards of small museums this stands out. We were just trying to kill an hour before lunch. There was an intelligently presented exhibition of female portraits. Every small child's dream of gruesomness in the Crimes and Misdemeanours section. And a massive explosion of David Hugh's sketches and work that was worth the price of admission in itself. A lovely, proud, confident and cleverly curated space. One of the gems of Bury St Edmunds.

A very peaceful place to visit near Bury St Edmunds. Perfect for spotting wildlife, especially birds and dragonflies. The walk around the lakes is very enjoyable, you can hear various birds at the time. It's a great place to visit to see sunsets. Or, if you want to meditate, you'll definitely find a quiet spot there. It's a proper escape to nature, one of the best places to see the wildlife near Bury St Edmunds!

A great, and free place to explore in Bury. We traveled with young kids and enjoyed exploring the ruins and the gardens, and the playground!

Really nice park.. great avenue of trees, good for dogs, not overcrowded this time of the year anyway… would come again. Coffee was good in the dog friendly cafe which is clean tidy and what you would expect for a council park with a modern twist
