Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Sarah H1 contributionGreat tour and tasting with Darren! Informative, fun and plenty of tastings. The area is lovely and the shop has some great Christmas gifts.Written 23 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lisa70Adelaide, Australia15 contributionsWe enjoyed our trip to The Spike. Our guide was very knowledgeable and was obviously very passionate about preserving the history surrounding the Workhouses in England. As tourists visiting from overseas we thought this was an excellent opportunity to learn some English history and we weren’t disappointed. Can highly recommend to tourists and localsWritten 17 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jmbb1234Surrey, UK3,287 contributionsFantastic little Castle, where the grounds are maintained beautifully, even through the Winter.
Great view if you go to the top walkway, near the entrance to the Castle - unfortunately we couldn’t go in, as the Castle is currently closed, but still very much worth a walk around.Written 13 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Beautiful scenery, stunning still and sparkling vino and a perfect thing to do on a sunny summer’s afternoon. The team were very attentive too and tour guide really friendly and knowledgeable. - Skip 2 The MainsFarnham, UK191 contributionsPopped along for the Flower Fairy exhibition. Beautifully displayed with lots of interactive areas for children. Brought together two generations who read the books as children. The shop has lots of pretty things to buy and staff are warm and welcoming. Found parking limited to suit an older person but there is an overflow up the road.Written 25 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - nickswlonTeddington, UK479 contributionsI was so lucky to have my own guide and she was wonderfully knowledgeable and enthusiastic (sorry I can’t recall her name). She had so much detail about the house and the furniture. The gardens were lovely and I wish I had spent more time here. I came for the ice cream (sadly disappointed as they don’t produce it anymore!) but was captivated by the beauty and history of the house.Written 28 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sue O18 contributionsReally lovely place to visit. Would recommend the cheese and wine experience which was great, very interesting and informative. We were kept up to date with information after initial booking and we had a very warm welcome from Becky on arrival.Written 4 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wendy B8 contributionsAlways liked GLive...ex.Civic and we've seen some brilliant Acts there over the years. Really appreciate that we have an Entertainment Venue like this here in Guildford. Staff always lovely too. I would rate it 4.5 stars but I might have considered 5 stars....except for the bar. I know that we're all having to adjust to higher prices but £3 for a top up of lemonade (for a Pimms)! I'm sorry but that's extortionate!Written 5 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- sabox15Hitchin, UK39 contributionsThis just an amazing place. I had a card that gave me Free Entry to the House and Museum but the Chapel is Free all the time. I just think its incredible a place you go back to visit because its so unique and so lovely and easy to get to. If you love art then definitely worth goingWritten 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Lucy TIsle of Wight, UK1,718 contributionsThe cathedral isn’t much to look at from the outside, in fact it’s quite bizarre but nice to look around and some interesting features. We were greeted by a friendly man on entry who presented us with a leaflet to read whilst we wandered around. It was a shame the shop wasn’t open, but it was a bank holiday Monday.Written 2 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicola Y36 contributionsBeautiful autumn walk. Walks marked and the map is easy to follow. Bit muddy. Cafe lots to offer and plenty of outdoor seating. - CHMDorkingDorking6 contributionsWe visited the Wharf today for the Wey River Festival, part of the Heritage week.
We enjoyed the quiet electric boat ride with the informative captain. So nice to be on the river without the fumes.
There was lots going on for all the family. Good food and drink stalls available.
