Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Tom RowlandsRas Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates1,360 contributionsGreat museum, if you have an hour or so, spare in Newcastle, free entry, and very good for a non paid one. Of course, they do recommend a donation, and it's worth it.Written 18 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Adam TYork, UK906 contributionsOur toddler loves books so this museum was a no brainer on our trip to Newcastle. Naturally the space is very child friendly, even for toddlers that can’t understand most of the exhibitions. He had plenty of things to explore and space to run around to burn off some energy. After wandering around the exhibits, we sat for a coffee in the bookshop which was also really nice. It’s definitely worth a visit, particularly since it’s free (for everything apart from the events etc), and we’d definitely come back with him when he’s a bit older.Written 24 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BenJamminJonesNewcastle upon Tyne, UK6 contributionsSanta Special - was very disappointed with the costumes after going in 2018 and the costumes we sooooo authentic and actors were amazing. This year the costumes were tacky which was such a shame. Nice actors and actresses though and we had a nice time. The kids enjoyed it.
Don’t let the eves ask you kids to put their heads out of the window as they!ben.jammin.jones@gmail.com get spot in their eyes and cry for hours after the event.Written 18 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Having tried several times to be allowed to enter this charitable institution (by prior arrangement) I have still not been welcomed in. They talk of allowing ‘select and limited group of members’ to ‘enjoy’ the heritage within and refer to ‘related privileges’. I’m not one of the privileged few sadly.Written 6 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
