Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Katherine EDurham, UK8 contributionsThis tour was something we wanted to go on for a while and it didn't disappoint. Mal our guide was great, very informative, kept it interesting and funny. There's so much history throughout the years literally under your feet in Newcastle. Very unique place that also hosts events which we would love to also attend sometime. Highly recommended tour. Thanks again Mal.Written 5 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Patricia H33 contributionsGreat views of bridges. Signs from Tyne Bridge to Quayside lacking due to work on Tyne Bridge. Plenty of places to eat and drink. Nice walk along Quayside back from Millennium Bridge.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Liv BCotswolds, UK19 contributionsLovely little spot in Jesmond. Super easy to get to from the town centre by the metro and well worth the trip for the lovely cafe and animals!Written 14 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan EPhiladelphia, PA1,140 contributionsIf you find yourself in Newcastle and you are an art lover this is a great stop. There is street parking outside and an attached cafe. The artwork is beautifully displayed with quite a variety of mediums. Being a potter and dabbling in glass I appreciate the wide range of choices and price points to chose from.Written 1 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - mukhasbenSouth Shields, UK3,975 contributions…. A famous book.
Only five women actors pulled off a different version of the book in a great venue. We were in the stalls for a change and enjoyed the change. The theatre is great as are the staff. It’s good to see great shows coming to the North East.Written 23 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The views either side were stunning.Written 3 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- holidaymanWashingtonWashington, UK4,854 contributionsWe have been planning to visit the Turner exhibition for some time, as it may be our only chance to do so. We wanted to avoid the school holidays, which left only this week before the event finished. There was a small entrance fee, (the rest of the museum exhibits being free to enjoy.)
I had not realised that Turner did many paintings of the North East, which we could easily relate to. Of course, the star of the show was, The Fighting Temeraire; which was worth the entry fee alone. I have seen the painting several times on TV but it looks even better close up. It has an ethereal quality about it. The colours really stand out and the more you look at it, the more you see. Not to undermine his other paintings or those of the other artists on display but this is a true masterpiece, in every sense of the word. Pleased that we made the effort to see it.
There were other artists on display with Turner and I particularly enjoyed some of the industrial scenes of the North East. The other large exhibition space had an eclectic mix of paintings, some of which are excellent and others which may fall under the category of 'there's no accounting for taste.' On the ground floor, the exhibition of mostly industrial North East art, was very enjoyable and a poignant reminder of times past, on the River Tyne. There is a pleasant cafe, toilets on each floor and a gift shop on two levels. Donations are always welcome.Written 4 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A network of paths, great for walking, stables to look at and a raptor sanctuary. We learned a lot from the volunteer staff. There's a pleasant cafe, nice to sit outside on a warm day.Written 1 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas VOakland, CA17,722 contributionsThis is the historic and commercial center of the city, where you will find markets, stores, little shops, great architecture, theaters and lots of food. - J CSunderland, UK428 contributionsWe went to Wylam Brewery to indulge in some good pizza. Very easy to get food tokens from the front of the venue, friendly staff.
Went to the bar for 2 drinks, Kopparberg and a Cold Conditon - ÂŁ7 per pint, a little on the higher side but happy to pay for the event.
1st stop was Wood Fired Pizza for the Soppre-Sabre. This was a very tasty pizza and would’ve happily ate a full one.
2nd stop was New York’shire Pizza Co. And got a Jabba the Jerk slice. Jerk chicken and chillies, it was very tasty and had a good kick towards the end. I would definitely recommend.
3rd and final stop Dou_h & Co for the Spandolorian. This slice was tasty but not as good as the previous two unfortunately.
The area around the pizza vendors was very crowded. No clear signage for queues or what is being served unless you got to near the front of a queue.
Overall a very good experience, and would definitely be worth another visit for the next event.Written 8 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are several gardens to enjoy, a really peaceful place. The cafe was great which also included gluten free options. There is a small car park and overall it is great value and a lovely spot to enjoy. Dogs are also welcome on leads.Written 21 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SarahNewcastle upon Tyne, UK16 contributionsWe got married here on the 1st July 2023 and honestly it was just the most perfect day. The venue itself is gorgeous and perfect for a wedding as there are several different rooms for guest to spread out between as well as the amazing outdoor area which is great for photos too! There are five rooms available to stay in at the venue too so you don't need to worry about rushing off elsewhere at the end of the night. Kristina is an absolute star! She was always available for any queries we had and we got to meet up plenty of times before the big day to catch up on where we were at with numbers/meal choices. We got to sample different menus beforehand and all of the food was just incredible and fantastic portion sizes too. Shout out to Nev too who was always happy to help and really took care of us the next day when we got to have our breakfast which was delicious.
It really was just the most perfect day and it was down to the amazing team at Mansion House, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat if I could. Thank you guys!! xxxWritten 11 July 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
