My main critic would be that this was soooooo rushed. So much so that one family requested to have their food wrapped and taken home because we were not given enough time to eat.
We were advised to arrive ten minutes early at 8.50. At 9 we had an elf come to the shutters of a closed store telling us they didn’t know how to open up. We were seated at 9.10 in Fumo (which was decorated festively). So far ten minutes lost and 20 minutes of unnecessary standing around waiting. We were offered basic tea or coffee which was served cold. I requested another and was given tea instead of coffee. The server ran off so fast I couldn’t alert them. Once I got someone to come over they tipped the tea over the table and (without mopping it up) put a fresh cup down of yet again cold coffee. This is 3 times! This is supposed to be a high end place and a server can’t clean up spills or even achieve HOT coffee. Gregg’s can manage this! We then had to eat 3 courses and finish drinks within 45 mins whilst also having entertainment interruptions. So we got first course at 9.15. Third course served at 9.50. Within ten minutes we were asked to go downstairs for Santa’s story. Food was left uneaten no coffee was had (no apple juice was seen either just orange as suggested on the menu).
The entertainment was lovely overall but given the time frame it placed a lot of limitations on everything.
I didn’t want to complain or we would have missed out on things and I didn’t want to spoil the experience for our daughter but for paying over £100 for this there is definitely room for improvements.Written 11 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hetty66621 contributionsThe outdoor market was really good, a really good display of fruit and vegetables all attractively displayed. Unfortunately, we were only there for a couple of days and had travelled by train, or I would certainly have made a few purchases. However, the indoor market was horrible.
