I first spoke to Jenni (the garden owner) in October, as I was planning to propose to my now fiance there. I told her my plans, which were to privately reserve the gardens for a few hours, decorate the trees with fairy lights, set up signage and place lots and lots (and lots) of candles around the proposal spot.
Jenni couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. She gave me full freedom to decorate how I wanted to and she also offered great ideas (like creating a path of candles for my fiance to walk up). She set up a bonfire for me, gave me this sachet which made the fire change colours and she even gave me extra tealights and jars to make it extra romantic.
Jenni even went as far as helping me trick my fiance into thinking she had a meeting for work at the gardens. She wrote up an entire fake email and sent it to my fiance's boss and it was so believable - she bought every word. I'm still convinced that she secretly works for the MI5.
The gardens themselves are absolutely gorgeous and all the staff are wonderful. I visited twice and both times, everyone was so accommodating and always offered me a hot drink. Jenni allowed our friends and family to hide out and surprise my fiance when she said yes. She even gave me a discount in the name of Christmas, which was so lovely of her.
Honestly, I can't recommend the gardens or the staff enough. Jenni clearly goes above and beyond for her customers and it's so clear how much she cares about her work. She has so many volunteers and she works really hard to better the lives of others, which initially drew me to the gardens.
Jenni - you were absolutely fantastic and I will definitely be back. Can't recommend this place enough!
