Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Do not assume that paths are safe at this venue. I slipped on ice on 6/2/25. I reported it, in the expectation that the path would be closed. It was still open 20 minutes later.

Had a lovely visit to Blakesley Hall today. Have been many times but with my cousin visiting , it was a great place to go. Was met at the entrance by a lovely young lady …. (Sadly her name escapes me) who told us about the history. I learnt something new today. She was very informative.
    Well worth a visit.

The kids love it here running around the grounds, playing on the new playground, getting dad lost in the maze…there’s an orchard, pond area and a huge piece of lawn which is perfect for a summer picnic. There is a little outside cafe that does teas, coffees, toasties, cakes and beer. We bought an annual family pass for around £60. Throughout the year the gardens host various events.

I first spoke to Jenni (the garden owner) in October, as I was planning to propose to my now fiance there. I told her my plans, which were to privately reserve the gardens for a few hours, decorate the trees with fairy lights, set up signage and place lots and lots (and lots) of candles around the proposal spot.

Jenni couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. She gave me full freedom to decorate how I wanted to and she also offered great ideas (like creating a path of candles for my fiance to walk up). She set up a bonfire for me, gave me this sachet which made the fire change colours and she even gave me extra tealights and jars to make it extra romantic.

Jenni even went as far as helping me trick my fiance into thinking she had a meeting for work at the gardens. She wrote up an entire fake email and sent it to my fiance's boss and it was so believable - she bought every word. I'm still convinced that she secretly works for the MI5.

The gardens themselves are absolutely gorgeous and all the staff are wonderful. I visited twice and both times, everyone was so accommodating and always offered me a hot drink. Jenni allowed our friends and family to hide out and surprise my fiance when she said yes. She even gave me a discount in the name of Christmas, which was so lovely of her.

Honestly, I can't recommend the gardens or the staff enough. Jenni clearly goes above and beyond for her customers and it's so clear how much she cares about her work. She has so many volunteers and she works really hard to better the lives of others, which initially drew me to the gardens.

Jenni - you were absolutely fantastic and I will definitely be back. Can't recommend this place enough!

Nice spot to admire the library and other cool buildings, nice water feature, and surprisingly litter free unlike most of Birmingham. Great place to take some photos, well worth a visit..

Beautifully enchanting gardens in a busy city area that is tranquil if you wanted to sit in quiet on of the many benches. Plenty of greenery in this little green oasis.

The monuments need a tidy up here and there. Situated less than five minutes walk from the canals and the Mailbox Centre.

The gardens outside the church have a lot of Christmas stuff in them currently. Including, it appears, on top of some graves.

Birmingham Cathedral’s Gardens with their perfectly tended lawns, neatly arranged seats, historic graves and monuments, should not be overlooked. A peaceful haven this Wednesday lunchtime with the temperatures again soaring and even the occasional sunbather amongst the day trippers and office workers.
