This time I had cause to seek advice from a “customer assistance “ operative.
Other than being dressed up with kit reminiscent of Bravo 2 Zero he was excellent and directed me skilfully towards the urgently required gentleman’s rest rooms .
Wasabi restaurant afterwards provided sushi that blew my mind and the house keeping but hey she doesn’t often check it .

Travelled in Tourist coach G, which was clean, and the stewards on board were friendly and helpful. For each passenger there was a booklet showing information about the route, VT etc, which was a nice little souvenir to take back home, so well done to everyone who produced these.
To minimise any fire risk, a diesel loco needed to be on the rear, however, for the assault on the Lickey Incline, the diesel was put into idling mode, and the full power of the Castles was allowed to be unleashed to climb the summit.
Just a couple of issues. After I booked on the tour back in November, I never received a link to order a bacon roll for breakfast. I was informed that I would have the opportunity to order breakfast options soon but this never happened. I raised this issue with the staff in the buffet car, as I presumed that a bacon roll would be available there, but was told that they were brought in and not prepared on board. A member of staff informed me that there had been a glitch with the website which had resulted in some people not receiving the link, however, the guy on the buffet very kindly gave me complimentary tea.
Also, there were no cold drinks available in Tourist buffet as it had no fridge. On what was one of the hottest days of the year, a refreshing cold drink would have been very welcome.
Despite this though, I thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would travel with Vintage Trains again. Trolley came round twice on a two hour 20 journey. Small carriage didn’t feel any different to standard class. Decided to try Walmley Elite based on the positive reviews.
Very pleased with every aspect of the service. Colin was extremely helpful, suggesting a pick up point just a short walk from the Arena that was easy to locate. He let us know he'd arrived by text and we were home in record time; the cost was competitive too.

Fantastic customer service, arrived on time and called 5 minutes before and on arrival.
Immaculate car and excellent driver. Also, excellent value for money.

I was anxious as you hear so many stories of taxis not turning up. I needn’t have worried! They were a few minutes early (so reassuring!), helped us to load our bags, and we were dropped off right outside the front doors. - Ash A1 contributionI dont know the company of the taxi but I just wanted to thank the driver. He was really kind and patient with me. I have autism and was in a panicked mind at the time. I was worried about not reach my coach in time and he went above and beyond to help me get to the place on time. He also drove off without me paying him the full amount owed. I had to go to the atm once we got to the place and when I went back, he was gone.
