Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

pretty good and fun. The staff are horribly rude and threw chocolate at me. Would recomend to everyone in birmingham. Also a few junkies outside smoking. (Chocolate tasted good)

Excellent tour with a very knowledgeable tour guide. Caroline, who is a former ladies player with the club, showed great knowledge and passion when speaking of the club. My wife and I enjoyed our time looking behind the scenes at the club I've supported since 1989. Lots of great photo opportunities and even bumped into Alan McInally who obliged in providing a selfie which really sealed the day. Another little bonus being the 10% discount offered in the club shop with your ticket. My only regret was not being able to spend longer looking at the offerings of the grounds other stands. It would have been interesting to see the Cells and spend time in the Holte. All in all a five star experience, thank you again Caroline 🫡

This is my favourite place to visit cause I love animals also one I would love to work with animals in the near future that is my dream. It was nice to hear facts about penguins I did not know about. The only bad thing I have to say was there was a sign on the glass that said do not touch or tap it but there was kids that ignored the rule which I thought was disrespectful to the animals. Also the pictures you can take it said no flash photograph which I understand but some of the staff taking family photos with the flash on . The place seemed a lot bigger than before and the shop was amazing.

If you ever go to Birmingham, the library is a must see. It's as beautiful as huge. I just don't give it more points because the secret garden wasn't well kept and they took off the Shakespeare statue.

Went to see Magic of Motown with my Mum. The show was amazing, seating was great, staff at bar and around the hall were lovely. Have taken one star off sadly as the man serving in Londis was one of te rudest men I've ever met (thin beard, I didn't notice his name badge unfortunately). Such a pity as everything else was perfect. Maybe a meeting on customer service might be suggested for the Londis in there.

A lovely oasis of a garden in the heart of the city. This building and garden has an interesting history which is well explored in the exhibits - belonging to the family of a wealthy industrialist who later bequeathed it to the university, and it was only in the last 10 years refurbished and made open to the public. The garden is quite large and you could spend well over an hour wandering through if you were so inclined - with a connection to woodland and Edgbaston lake at the back. The Interior rooms give a sense of what life would have been like. There is a nice tea room looking out over the garden serving full meals; we enjoyed a tasty and filling afternoon tea with a gorgeous view overlooking the gardens.

We went to see Peter Pan matinee on the 12th Jan 25. It was brilliant! The cast were fab and we had a right laugh but we must give a big shout out to Linda, the employee who was managing the Prosecco Lounge. Her customer service was amazing and we shared with her that we loved the lounge because it helps with my husbands ADHD as he struggles with crowds. As we were brought the tickets we didn’t know where we were sitting. Linda came to find us in the auditorium to check we were ok with where we were sitting and also offered my husband to go back to the lounge if it became overwhelming so he could watch the live stream on the tv in the lounge. We always worry with places like this, and Linda made us feel so at ease! I highly recommend this lounge for those who struggle with crowds or those who want a little calm space to enjoy a drink before the performance.

We were pleased to find that the museum had partially reopened after a long closure.
It’s worth calling in if you’re passing but not worth travelling to as only a very small percentage is open. We look forward to the full reopening in the future.

This is an absolutely fascinating insight into the life and work of the men and women who helped make some of the worlds finest coffins and funeral garments! Our tour guide, Cornelius, was warm, knowledgeable, and franky, just phenomenal! It was a pleasure to learn so much about the site from him. He made the whole place feel so alive and it was a total joy. I found it impossible to not be in awe of the work that went into every aspect of the coffin making. I'd also like to thank the lovely Pat who kept me company, made me feel so welcome, and made the most divine Baileys hot chocolate in the sites fantastic cafe (I was extremely early for my tour). All the lovely volunteers were so helpful and kind. One of the best days out I've had in a long time. I truly cannot recommend it enough, especially a guided tour. I'm glad the football shrouds didn't catch on though!

The gas street basin and the canals are pretty awesome. The canals helped the UK gain wealth and become an industrial leader and are an important part of history. It’s cool they still exist.

Visited with our 3 and 5 year old last Saturday. The children loved the top floor and we could have spent most of our time there. We appreciated the hot drinks machine meaning it was ÂŁ2 each a hot drink rather than an overpriced one.
We also visited the planetarium which the kids loved and was just the right length. There is alot to see in the museum and alot of areas certainly felt well loved with buttons not working which was a shame. We were also not told about the stamps on the first floor and only saw it on the way out which was a shame as we think the kids would have loved it. Would have loved a few more hand sanny points around as it is super touchy feely. We will be back when the kids are a little older. Thankyou

It was our first time at the Barber Institute but definitely won't be the last. Our visit to the Scent and the Art of the Pre-Raphaelites exhibition surpassed our expectations and we've been talking about it ever since.

What makes the Barber Institute particularly stand out is the friendliness of the staff - without exception. Simon was superb: helping us access the lifts (one of our party had mobility issues) and a great knowledge of the pieces which he brought to life for us. Even our teenagers loved it.

The Barber Institute is due to close for a year at the end of the month for refurbishment, so if you have time to visit the Scent exhibition, it's well worth the visit. I'm looking forward to the reopening in 2026.

Great tour which was personalised by Matt & Ben on a bright, sunny, cold day!
Very knowledgeable guides that went the extra mile to ensure we had a good time.
Toilets cosy and warm but hall itself can be cold in winter. No cafe open. Perhaps a third party may invest to reopen.
Set in a great park overlooking aston villa football ground, ideal if yr a footie fan!
A gem of history so very close to Birmingham city centre.
Thoroughly enjoyed, made possible by Matt & Ben.
