... greeted by Pete Chambers, a local music historian and very nice and knowledgeable man, or one of the museums equally knowledgeable volunteers, who will answer any queries you may have, and give great insight i...
Staffed by a fantastic and enthusiastic team of lovely volunteers, this great museum takes you on a tour of Coventry's great musical history and provokes great memories with a personal touch.
Coventry Transport Museum

Normally free museums tend to be reflected in having very little there to do, but we enjoyed a good 2 hours here, and the interactive displays with actors giving informative talks was a great idea.
These are awe-inspiring machines built to the edge of technology p. Free to visit which just puts this place on a pedestal over other museums; considering its size, the collections and the history on display.
St. Mary's Guildhall

One room upstairs was like a museum room with large wooden dinning table and period large wooden chests.
Herbert Art Gallery & Museum

You travel to other countries, other cities & furiously go through a tick list of museums, churches, restaurants to visit.
Being from Dudley where our museum is being closed it was great to see an excellent wildlife photography exhibition and then gaze at an amazing Degas ballerina in the art gallery.
Midland Air Museum

The staff were very friendly and helpful , this is a must visit if you like aircraft museums as I do.
A proper "dusty round the edges" gem that all museums should feel like ( some are far too clinical ) Lots of interesting artefacts, models and history to get absorbed in.

We visited the Museum whilst in the area for a Tim Vine Show as we had a couple of hours free and didn`t regret the experience...A great little shop in a interesting market area with a variety of unique retail bus...
Sgt Bilko's Emporium is a great place to visit, the Sgt Bilko Museum is free (there is a donation box, definitely worth a contribution) and houses some very precious memorabilia.
The Weaver's House

Brilliant museum capturing Coventry's history.
We came here by chance after speaking to a local in a museum who recommended it.
Coventry Watch Museum Project Limited
#9 of 13 Museums in Coventry
A proper museum with friendly volunteers and lots to see and explore - a change from overly interactive museums where children do lots but learn little - my 11 year old was fascinated by this special little museum...
Most museums and National Trust fix up buildings and exhibits to showroom standards, but in cleaning and renovating they lose the feel of how people really lived and worked.
Electric Railway Museum
#10 of 13 Museums in Coventry
There are many museums and heritage lines dedicated to steam and diesel trains but this is the only one in the UK for the hugely important but often forgotten electric train.
We visited the museum as part of this years heritage weekend and were amazed that such a wonderful museum of train history was on our doorstep.
The CET Building

They have art displays, galleries, history and museum stuff but best thing is just being able to explore a really atmospheric and photogenic industrial architecture.

With the Avro Shackleton alongside it and the Midland Air Museum a short drive away, the Nimrod is well worth a visit even if you have to come a long way to see it.
