Great museum to visit whilst in Leeds! Free entry and so much to discover, learned new things all the time whilst was there and the gun demonstration was great. Ideal if you’re a history fan

Waterloo Lake is lovely but some areas around the lake are difficult to navigate due the the very uneven nature of the footpath. Mum was a bit frightened that she might tip into the lake where the path was very uneven. Does need sorting out for improved wheelchair accessibility

What an absolute gem, this beautiful Abbey is well kept and a lovely day to spend the day. The only downside I would say is the cost of parking at £15 a car on the day. You can save a bit of money pre booking though so check out their website.

Amazing views and landscape. Good price tickets for house and farm. The Halloween house cellar tour was a lot of fun - a great mix of learning more about the house and getting scared 😝 Great day out!

This is an interesting museum of medicine in Leeds, right next to St James Hospital. It has its own parking around the front with another car park available further down the road.
The ground floor covers the history of life in Leeds and the advances of medicine and changes made to improve the health of people in Leeds over the centuries.
The first floor has exhibits of medical equipment, technology and changes over the years.
There is also nice little cafe, and a shop for visitors after going round the visits.
A good afternoon out and well worth a visit.

  • I live and born and rised in Leeds but never went inside Leeds Arena. Outside, building great and inside also great. Me and my brother went there for Sabton Concert back in April with Babymetal and Lordi, I'm a fan of Babymetal, Sabton and Lordi, shock that Lordi feature. unable to get some merchs and sovunirs but had good time.

Beautiful old theatre and despite being high up the sound of the orchestra and the view of the stage was fabulous when we watched the Nutcracker performed by the Northern ballet. Access to the rear seats at the top does require some agility , but it’s worth the effort.

We’re regular visitors to Roundhay park and after quite a long time revisited Golden acre. Smaller than Roundhay but plenty of interest, wooded areas, flowerbeds, a large lake. Popular with dog walkers. Car parks at either end. And a really nice cafe !

After reading so many negative reviews on this year’s Christmas event we decided to take a look for ourselves
We booked in for late afternoon and on entering the house we had a warm welcome
Unfortunately only half of the rooms were open to the exhibition although as explained the other rooms would be open shortly for the Santa experience
As we walked through the rooms we could relate to the past years having lived through those years
Not too sure about Christmas 2050 the turkey will need a week to cook !
It was obvious the team had acted on the poor reviews and additions to the rooms added
On exiting the house onto the terrace garden the fading backdrop brought out the magical effects of the light display walking down to the courtyard you had that Christmas feeling especially after the previous nights scattering of snow
As we walked back past the advent calendar on the house we noticed silhouettes on the lawns of the fallow deer a magnificent site to end the walk
We found it to be very interesting and the youngster will find it magical especially once they open the santa experience

The only disappointment of the afternoon was to be served coffee at the terrace cafe in paper cups!!

I recently visited Tropical World for the first time in quite a few years. I'm very glad to say it is still a really nice day out in the Leeds area, plenty of animals to see. The butterflies and birds in particular have quite a big area to roam around, making it easy to spend quite a lot of time looking for them.

When I visited, some enclosures were closed and undergoing refurbishment, however it's good to see the attraction is still open despite this, and I'm intrigued to see what the new arrivals will be.

The animals and enclosures all seem to be looked after very well. If anything, I would say the butterfly room could be monitored a little more closely, I noticed one had escaped and was flying around near the exit which was a little concerning as I'm sure they need to be in the warm environment set up for them.

That said, this is overall a good day out with plenty to see, and I'm sure once the refurbishments are complete it will be better than ever!

Took grandkids to the Halloween skeleton trail. The children did enjoy it but I did feel for what I paid £36 for 2children and 3 adults there could have been alot more skeletons, pumpkins cobwebs spiders etc around . Lotherton is a big area and more Halloween themed things about would have made the experience better especially when it cost what it did. If you decide to go take wellies as it was very muddy which is to be expected. Also went to the toilets near the cafe which were horrendous, dirty,no loo paper and smelling .

Beautiful space. Really tailored to kids. Made to look lovely and festive downstairs and really interactive upstairs. My little boy had loads of fun running around the old victorian streets. and i had fun looking at all the old stuff!

Interesting shops and interior. The shops were varied and craft related in the main and the building intriguing historically.

Had to collect a package which I’ve had a lot of trouble with at the help desk. Helen and Hayleigh were there to help and talk me through everything and were such a great help.
