Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited this park for a pre-Christmas walk. We parked in one of the free car parks, which I understand are soon to be subject to parking charges. Apart from generally enjoying the great environment in the park, we were particularly aiming for the "Forest Fairies" in the wooded area near the Mansion building. This is an area of "make believe" for children, where little fairy houses and figures etc have been scattered among and on the trees. There are plenty of other areas and activities to enjoy in this expansive and great facility. Overall a very pleasant visit.

Whilst on holiday in Ilkley we were looking for a stately home to visit and hound this on a Google search. So glad we did. It’s amazing, full credit to Leeds City Council. It’s cheaper than most National Trust places and more to see. We did a combined ticket and did the farm as well, worth it as we saw the baby lambs. Took us about 3.5 hrs all in. Deffo worth a visit

We’re regular visitors to Roundhay park and after quite a long time revisited Golden acre. Smaller than Roundhay but plenty of interest, wooded areas, flowerbeds, a large lake. Popular with dog walkers. Car parks at either end. And a really nice cafe !

Visited with our two boys and they loved seeing all the animals. A lot of information about each zone and animal as well. Kids are already wanting to go back

The Leeds Liverpool is 127 miles long, so you have a lot to go at, but the stretch I'm commenting on is the Skipton stretch from the town centre. It's only minutes away you can boat it, you can walk it, you can ride it (bike not horse) a 15 minute walk will have in the wonderful countryside of Yorkshire and then turn around and visit Skipton for something to eat

Had a lovely walk around St Adens even though parts of it are flooded after the storms last week. Plenty of bird spotters about so seemed busy but the walk was lovely and we avoided the flooded paths. Nice.

Great for families, couples and solos, nearly a mile’s walk around the Tarn; lots of ducks, geese and swans; a great playground for the kids; a bandstand and, quite often, an ice cream van.

Great dog walk through the forest.
Car park too but gets busy at peak times.
Excellent café across the road too (vegetarian). Great food and cakes.
    Best to book though.

Fantastic visit. I’d sponsored ‘Tat’ as a present for my brother and we were pleased to be able to visit to meet Tat.

An introductory talk whilst some of the donkeys played with a wellington boot was entertaining, and then a visit to meet the other donkeys outside was really enjoyable.

We were grateful that dogs are welcome, and it meant we could spend a little time without worrying about the dogs being in the car.

Had we known there was a cafe (I didn’t check), we’d have supported by having a drink and cake - but instead we bought some souvenirs and gifts.

Excellent viewing areas, lovely donation payment cafe with views of feeders, harvest mice breeding tank to view, clean toilets & friendly, helpful volunteers . Plenty of the wildlife to spot including the stars of the show for us ...the Little Owls. We will definitely be back 👍 Thank you

Yesterday, inspite of the seasonal weather the whole family enjoyed Wharfemeadows Park. ( The Fawkes family of Farnley Hall gifted this riverside land to the People of Otley)
Feeding the ducks and swans, taking a trip on the riverside boats, gazing at the Bowl's Club waiting for the drizzle to cease. We were rewarded as we arrived at the Children's Playground with its archimedes screw. Sorry to see the terrible plight of the public toilets beside the pleasant Cafe, that sells a wide range of snacks, drinks and ices. No otters to see today. Teenagers were enjoying the outdoor gym, skate park and tennis. All that is needed is an all weather table tennis, some crazy golf and of course funding for the Lido, and it would be more than perfect. The flower beds are now a home to nature, with thanks to local Otley organisations.

We had our daughters sixth birthday here and it was absolutely fantastic! Despite the rain the children saw and stroked several of the animals, they were taught about them and the work the centre does and then they loved grooming the donkeys.

The other parents in attendance agreed it was excellent and we can’t wait to bring our daughter back to see the pony she has adopted.

Thank you for a wonderful day

Had a lovely walk around Meanwood Park. A brass band was playing and it was beautiful in the hot weather. Will definitely visit again in the future.

What a gorgeous garden to visit just outside the centre of Leeds, Yorkshire. An absolute jewel. Ample parking and a lovely cafe for refreshments after your meander round the 17 different garden areas in this 1 acre garden. Reasonably flat to walk round, but there are some steps too - there are a variety of routes around the gardens though. As it was our first visit here, we opted to join a free garden tour. A very knowledgeable volunteer tour guide, Jocelyn, explained the history and planting schemes of each garden as we went round. This is a definite must to see if visiting the area.

The garden planting schemes and designs are definitely inspirational. There are many great ideas for your own gardens. Theres joy round each corner!

Just make a note of opening times though, as the gardens are closed in late October for winter. Check the website.
