Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited with our two boys and they loved seeing all the animals. A lot of information about each zone and animal as well. Kids are already wanting to go back

One of my favourite places to visit, think we have done all the walks round the lakes and taken loads of photos, even had a picnic in the snow a couple of years ago. There are toilets on site and a lovely little cafe for a well deserved coffee after a beautiful walk.

Fantastic visit. I’d sponsored ‘Tat’ as a present for my brother and we were pleased to be able to visit to meet Tat.

An introductory talk whilst some of the donkeys played with a wellington boot was entertaining, and then a visit to meet the other donkeys outside was really enjoyable.

We were grateful that dogs are welcome, and it meant we could spend a little time without worrying about the dogs being in the car.

Had we known there was a cafe (I didn’t check), we’d have supported by having a drink and cake - but instead we bought some souvenirs and gifts.

Studied the free map and saw there were feeders in the managers garden. I had no idea where this was as I don't think it was sign posted. Never had I seen this area before. It's higher up than the toilets up a gravel path. 8 feeders all numbered so you can say jay on 5. And it was 30 minutes of a beautiful jay bouncing about and feeding on nuts.
    Go there .

I have followed you for a while on Facebook so was glad when we could visit. It is a great little rescue centre. My daughter is pony mad and we were able to say hi to the ponies as most of them were in. It is small and obviously not supposed to be an activity park so this may be why there are some negative reviews. The staff and volunteers were all friendly and there are obviously opportunities for local children to get involved. Well done guys for all your hard work. You could maybe expand your shop so that people can spend more money!!

We heard about Hetchell Woods from a friend. It’s run by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
The woods are an easy yet adventurous walk. The kids thoroughly enjoyed a bit of fresh air and freedom to explore.
Wear your wellies, it was quite muddy in certain areas.
Dog friendly, but not necessarily good for bikes.
    Roadside parking - Free.

On a lovely warm, sunny afternoon it was a pleasure to come here. Having parked the car in the leisure centre car park we strolled along the along the bank of the river Wharfe, taking in the lovely views, before crossing the pedestrian bridge and looping back into the town centre.

It was all very peaceful, and we enjoyed taking time to sit on a bench to watch people swim in the river or simply have fun walking their dogs.
    Really enjoyed it.

Amazing nature protection with two hides for bird watchers, converge to Golden Acre Park with 2 car parks, one at Otley road, another at Arthington road. Well services coffee bar & toilet. Set interesting walking trails, well paved earth paths, very good for day out walking…

We had a fun couple of hours at the pony party. It was well organised and the children enjoyed walking the ponies, feeding the goat and doing a series of racing challenges. The outdoor barn can get cold if the outside weather is cold but nothing that hats/coats and gloves can't combat.

Good fun for the group of 12 that attended!

Skelton grange was amazing we went on an event day and there was plenty of things to do like forest play, minibeast spotting, pond dipping and meadow play. All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful would recommend

The marsh is a great alternative to golden acre and has Paul's pond at the back of it that is an excellent place for the dog to swim that isn't full of ducks and bird watchers!

Only downside is that the bins for dog mess finish when the bridge starts.

A Hidden valley in suburban Leeds.
This was my first visit in five years.
Many years ago in the 1970s I walked through it to go to school. Now, almost 50 years later, the surprising thing is how little it has changed.
On this journey I walked the full length of the valley.
Although it was a warm sunny day and most people were out, this valley and wooded park were almost deserted, I only came across one backpacker and a couple of dog walkers. In contrast, I visited nearby Roundhay park an hour later and there, there were still hundreds of people late into the evening.
Now back to this wood. The big positive change is that the paths through the woods have been maintained and updated, there were new wooden benches in several places.
I followed the stream as it changed into a lake with its dam. Very little change here in 50 years. The ducks and swans were out but no people.
Overall a very peaceful and enjoyable hour.
