Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Candelabra8London, UK45 contributionsWow, what an amazing experience! It was our 5 year olds first cinema experience and I hope she doesn’t expect them to be all as fabulous! Chesterfield sofas, great table service and fabulous cinema. What is not to love?
(We couldn’t book online due to an issue with their website so we called booked the two sofas at the back. Highly recommend. Super friendly and helpful!)Written 29 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vickers55Cambridge, UK707 contributionsWent to see oceans eight. Lovely little theatre, comfortable seats. Bar downstairs. The joy of no adverts and trailers, just the film. Sure it’s not a mega screen, but very adequate. Overall a great experience.Written 31 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom HCwm-y-Glo, UK5 contributionsAfter a few shaky years Pontio seems to be finding its feet as a cultural venue in Bangor. The cinema in particular now has a really strong and varied selection of films. There's still room for improvement, the website's a joke and there's no prospect for hanging round in the bar for a drink after a film as security pretty much frog-march you out of the door. I also wish there was a decent eatery there and more opportunities for local musicians and artists to perform. Hopefully that'll come with time.Written 24 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Jean FBolton, UK13 contributionsThe Memorial Hall is a lovely building and the people of Criccieth are very fortunate to have such a lovely, suitable hall available to them for a variety of functions. I went to see the Starlight Players in July 2019 and was quite impressed that such a lovely multi functional building was available in such a small town as Criccieth. Keep using it as if you don't, you'll lose it and that would be such a shame. The only complaint I have was that the prices at the bar were rather excessive! £10.25 for a red wine and a G & T when the hotel only charge £7.70. They could also do with cushions on the chairs!Written 23 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- MancReviewManchester, UK662 contributionsWe popped in to take a look at the antique fair. Admission was 50p but included a free hot drink. While collecting this, I noticed how cheap the food was, e.g. large bacon bap £2 (and yes, it was a large bap AND with plenty of bacon on!!). Other diners were having full breakfast with added chips. I've photographed the menu for information because I would definitely use the facilities again. Please don't expect a gourmet silver service dining experience because it's quite the opposite really! Imagine village hall/scout hut vibe.
Footnote: This is a municipal building from the 60s or 70s and it's charming to see the unchanged retro italic typeface on the toilet door signs. I would have liked to have photographed these but there were people around and it would have appeared weird!Written 3 July 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
